The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

Hi everyone,
I am new to this thread, I have been having heart palpitations over the last couple of weeks, they are very scary, I went to the ER last week and of course by the time I got there the palps had stopped and they were not able to pick them up on the EKG. I just need prayer, I have a pretty stressful life, my daughter is on drugs and she also has an 8 month old baby who is now living with me because she can't or wont take care of her. I love this little one so much, but I have forgotten how hard it is to take care of a little one 24/7.
Anyway I am seeing a cardiologist next week, I could really use your prayers, I have asked the Lord to just give the Doctor the wisdom and knowledge to know how to treat me. Thank you everyone, I really appreciate it. Jan
Stress can eat up the resources of Vit B and a deficiency can show up in heart palpations. Try taking a Vit B complex.
True. - Premature contractions happen across the Life-span of people:Sometimes;
they don't know what causes them.
It's not an age related thing either. The EKG tech told me he knew of a kid under 8
getting around 16,000 PVCs a day and they ended up doing the ablation
because it was hurting her (pain). So it's not an uncommon thing.
My doc said palps are common after 50, in most of the population.
It's the number and problems they may cause that need watching.
oh really??Mine just started one day without warning and
that first halter monitor 24 hr test showed 8,000 a day.
For some that would freak them out but the doc kinda shrugged and
said nothing looked bad and as long as it wasn't causing problems (pain or fainting) they'd leave it alone.
He said those 8,000 are not a hassle.
Said around 16,000 a day is when they worry.
See, re the EXERCISE - I knew it all along: & the funny thing is,I have since been to a specialist but by this point
(4 years later) they are a lot less common, though still present. I just keep on going.
They tell me exercise is fine.
GOOD for you!I did go for a cath recently to rule out heart disease
as the cause of the PVCs but all was great (Thank you Lord!!)
No sign of coronary artery disease,
which, at my age and weight and family history is a blessing right there.
