Hi all...my name is Diana. And I wanted to know if anyone has prayed to God to break their heart-for our generation, for our sin, for anything. Earlier today I prayed this prayer, and lo and behold I did the thing I was warned against. I visited the general apolagetics section. If anyone is looking to be broken, I stronlg advise you to go there. I tears me up to see the things that unbelievers believe in. Go there, but don't just be broken. Pray for them, pray, pray, pray! A broken heart and a contrite spirit He has yet to deny! So if your looking to be shattered, and want to have only God to turn to, I implore you to go there. But a word of warning-It will break your heart.

I told you try not to go there...

maybe now you know what the apostle Paul felt like

1 Cor*10:31 Whether, then, you eat or drink or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
1 Cor*10:32 Give no offense either to Jews or to Greeks or to the church of God;
1 Cor*10:33 just as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit but the profit of the many, so that they may be saved.

diana,

your heart for the lost is so beautiful. dont lose it, its very attractive and something to be desired. a person that feels great pain and sorrow when they see the lost, is a beautiful thing. im looking for the person who will one day be my wife, a beautiful young lady like yourself is absolutely what im looking for. thankGod i have found one. and you know something, she is one of the most beautiful people or things ive ever met or seen, not simply becuase shes attractive, but becuase she has such a heart for the lord, she cries and sings and is just so on fire for God, and never ceases to serve the lord with her whole heart even when it hurts her, and when she falls down, her brokenness and disappointment truely shows she loves God with all her being, i love her so much. you are alot like her it seems. Godbless you.

i dont really think you should ever need to pray that God break you, as in make you not proud or stubborn anymore. we are supposed to do that ourselves, and that isnt something God desires to have to do for you, becuase if he does, it means you are not seeking his will and are willingly out of his will. it means your very wrong.

but i dont think thats what your talking about anyway, i think you praying that you will have a more sensitive broken heart for the lost is a very noble beautiful thing. and i do think we need to pray for things like this, becuase something being the will of the lord doesnt mean Gods going to do it and it doesnt mean its going to happen, and God does not simply drop a message down in front of you to show you everything you need to know. the bible says to watch very carefully unto prayer, becuase simply becuase Gods wants to show you something, do something in you,
give you something, doesnt mean its going to happen, or else wed never need to pray at all. everything God desires for our lives in his realm, but it will never come into our realm and into our lives if we do not pray concerning them.
all issues, all the will of God, everything must be prayed about, thats why paul said to be praying at all times and for all things.

but also, something i think will encourage you and maybe make you feel good about yourself is, whenever you felt the need to go to the lord and pray for a more broken sensitive loving heart for the lost, that was when the work began, it was in you, it was working in you even before you prayed, though i do think prayer was a requirement to seeing it all brought to pass.
i mean, when a person falls down in tears crying out to the lord becuase they want a greater burden for the lost, it proves they do have a great burden for the lost.

I have seen many of the posts from non-Christians on other threads, and it DOES break my heart.

What I don't understand, though, is many of them claim to have been Christians at one time and now they say they are not. Many say they went looking for answers to questions and discovered Christianity was not what it claimed to be.

I honestly don't know how that happens. When I have questions, I too go looking for answers and in my search, I find myself falling even more in love with Jesus and what He did for me! I truly can't imagine searching for truth and it leading me anywhere but to The Truth.

Reading some of the non-Christian posts has really opened my eyes to the world's darkness. I have been a Christian since I was a child, raised in a Christian home with Christian parents, and most of the people with whom I associate are Christians. So to see people so blatantly (proudly?) admitting they are atheists, agnostics and other non-Christian affiliations is very hard for me to understand.

My Christian belief is my LIFE! It is my purpose for living! The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is the hope I have for life beyond this one! How could someone claim to have had that hope at one time and reject it now? (I think I have a harder time understanding THAT than understanding those who have never believed in anything.)

Ah yes, the apologetics forum, welcome to my world...

I'm tellin' ya, it is sad, some of the hair-brained things I have read that people believe. All I can do is keep posting the truth, over and over and over, and hope that some are listening. It is sad, and makes me wonder where some of those people have gotten those beliefs from.

in this world there are many voices, truth by itself doesnt save the soul.
only the inspired word of God saves the soul.
gotta pray, and when your words are from the lord, they will convert the soul.
like the bible said, the word is perfect, converting the soul.

gotta pray and be annointed, and then, your words will go deep, becuase they are laced with the power of God.

well thats what i think anyway.

Jesus Christ is the Saviour, not the Bible. The Bible does not save the soul.
