  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I got the flu when I was 8-10 weeks pregnant i think.
It lasted for a good couple of weeks cause i didn't take anything for it.
I just let myself get better. I spent lots of time sleeping and drank lots of water.
And actually I felt better afterwards than i usually do after having the flu.
It was a horrible time though... morning sickness and the flu, at the same time!!! ugh...

I have a cold right now~ it started about 3 weeks ago. It sucks big time and I just can't seem to kick it. I go the natural route though~ decongestants and I don't mix well. Garlic, zinc, Vit.C, bioflavanoids, lots of water, Oregon Grape Root...

Yup. I had a rip roaring sinus infection that was working towards bronchitis as well. Since I am overseas, all the stuff I know to treat it with at home before it gets to 'rip roaring' are unavailable to me since I am not affiliated with the Military... and my only military-affiliated friend is closer to the Czech Republic in Bayern (I'm 4 hrs away in the West)...

I ended up taking what was cleared thru the Doctor. We started first with a herbal medicine (totally herbs and organic items) that unfortunately is harsh on a pregnant stomach due to the Thyme and Rosemary in it. :(
So, we moved then to a sinus medication (Sinupret - not Sinupret Forte, which is dangerous in pregnancy) as well as an equivelant to Tylenol (Benuron).... that didn't do too much good as by then it was already really bad, so I got put on Cipro.... thankfully I am not allergic to that (I am allergic to everything else other than it and ZPac)!

I'm now over it after having that about a month, and the only thing I am dealing with is my allergy to smoke and staving off bronchitis due to the sinus drainage that comes with that.

I'm still looking for something like Sambucol.. I dunno if I can legally order that from Israel and have it sent here or not with all the laws about herbs and minerals and such being shipped into and out of the country..

I'm paranoid when I'm pregnant too (probably for the same reasons as you), and if I don't have a fever I don't take anything at all. Just drink water, OJ, and eat plenty of vegetables.
^^ lol except I always get it when I'm still morning sick and the cold multiplies my morning sickness so that not only can I not keep anything down, I can't get anything down in the first place. Last time I had the flu during pregnancy I got seriously dehydrated because I couldn't even have water. I had no input, only...'output'.^_^

I've been sick for about the past week and a half and am JUST starting to get better (though my husband stayed in bed all day, extremely sick...the flu :( )

I started with a cold, so I was taking cough drops, lots of tea, etc. It led to a bad chest cold and eventually to bronchitis...I was prescribed some antibiotics, nasal spray (otc), Nyquil or Tylenol and LOTS of rest...as well as 2 inhalers since I was wheezing so bad. Pulmicort is a steroidal Rx inhaler and safe in pregnancy, so my PCP Rx'd it and it helped tremendously...
