In Light of this statement, Why don't you show us where in the New Testament WE as Gentile Christians {Or any Jewish Christians} are commanded to keep the Jewish Sabbath???Now if it said "The Sabbath" then I maybe able to see your point, but not "a sabbath day"
I would like someone to show me where it says the Sabbath has been changed.deu58 said:Hi Ronba

IndeedTreasure the Questions said:Maybe we should be worshipping God every day, or at least whenever we can.
We have, yet you have not shown where it is restated in the NT.RonBa said:I would like someone to show me where it says the Sabbath has been changed.
How many days does God say to keep holy?Rich48 said:Well said!

The best I have found is Revelation 4:8RonBa said:How many days does God say to keep holy?
True, but the verse has nothing to do with the Sabbath. It is talking about heaven, it happened in heaven.Bizzlebin Imperatoris said:The best I have found is Revelation 4:8
Each of the four living creatures had six wings and was covered with eyes all around, even under his wings. Day and night they never stop saying: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come."
But is not the Sabbath a shadow of things heavenly? Even though Jesus did away with the shadows to reveal the substance you think it is better to keep the shadow rather than the substance?True, but the verse has nothing to do with the Sabbath. It is talking about heaven, it happened in heaven.
On this earthy God has given us one day to keep holy for Him.
The weekly Sabbath has nothing to do with shadows and never has.deu58 said:Hi Ronba

Most of these simply mention a day. It is like having a passage saying "Jesus did a miracle on Monday" and calling it a holy day. No connection...RonBa said:After what is said in the Bible about the Sabbath and how important it is to keep the 7th day Sabbath, would you keep the 1st day holy on what is said on these 8 texts?
If you would, why would you choose that way?
Matthew 28:1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
Mark 16:2 And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.
Mark 16:9 Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.
Luke 24:1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning °, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.
John 20:1 The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when, it was yet dark, unto, the sepulchre, and, seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre. .
John 20:19 Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
Acts 20:7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
1 Corinthians 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings ° when I come.
Now look at some Sabbath Texts in the New Testament, see how they support Sabbath worship.
Acts 13:14 But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and sat down.
Acts 13:27 For they that dwell at Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they knew him not, nor yet the voices of the prophets which are read ° every sabbath day, they have fulfilled them in condemning him.
Acts 13:42 And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath.
Acts 13:44 And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.
Acts 15:21 For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.
Acts 16:13 And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.
Acts 17:2 And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and ° three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,
Acts 18:4 And he reasoned in the synagogue ° every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews
and the Greeks.
Find something in the NT saying that Sabbath is required and/or still in effect.RonBa said:True, but the verse has nothing to do with the Sabbath. It is talking about heaven, it happened in heaven.

Exodus 20:8-11
"Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. 11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
More to the point you find something in the New Testament to say that from now on the first day of the week is the Sabbath.Find something in the NT saying that Sabbath is required and/or still in effect.
You have been answeredon this point so many times it is really unbelievable you still use this tactic, So lets change the tactic, You show us where in the New Testament that the Sabbath is still binding on the Christian today and I will show you where in the New Testament that it says it is not,Now it is up to you to show me that the 7th day is no longer the Sabbath.
1) The Sabbath is still the same day, though we do not need to observe it. It is lie saying Monday is the second day of the week. It must be holy too!RonBa said:

I have put all the first day texts down and Sabbath texts that show they were still keeping the Sabbath.
Now it is up to you to show me that the 7th day is no longer the Sabbath.
Not once has anyone given me a text that says the Sabbath has been changed.deu58 said:Hello Ronba
