Ike I said, he has it backwsrd
2 Peter 3:8 ~ Beloved, do not let this one thing escape your notice: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.
Not in an everlasting kind of way (as you have pointed out).Well, David ruled upon earth.
Ah, I see... you are trying to postulate that Peter was giving us some literal key to read the Bible in the sense that when its about days, we should read thousand years.
Well, its quite a shaky position. Peter was not establishing some prophetic rule, he was simply saying that God's timing is different than ours. Not just longer, but also shorter.
Not in an everlasting kind of way (as you have pointed out).
It's not a conversion formula. The text doesn't say anything about "to us". Both clauses refer to "with the Lord". IOW...."with the Lord...a day is like a thousand years and with the Lord a thousand years are like a day".Ike I said, he has it backwsrd
1000 years to us is as a day to the Lord.

As Parousia70 mentioned earlier....we also have Psalm 90:4 uses a whole other comparison... a thousand years there are equal to a watch in the night (typically about 4 hour shifts).
2 Peter 3:8 ~ Beloved, do not let this one thing escape your notice: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.Have you never said something like, "I was waiting in that line for a lifetime "? It's not literal language....and especially not a secret prophetic conversion formula.
Daniel's prophecy of 70 weeks is a timeline that can be followed to uncover fulfilled prophecy (like when the Messiah would come....be anointed....take away sin....and seal up prophecy before including the Gentiles into the covenant).

Jesus sits on David's throne as the Son of David. Peter said that in his sermon on the day of Pentecost:Well, David's throne was also in Jerusalem.
His throne was never in heaven because he never ascended into heaven and he never ruled Israel from heaven.
If someone is going to sit on David's throne it would have to be in earthy Jerusalem where David's throne has been. If someone's throne is established in heaved n then it's not David's throne.
1 Kings 2:11 The length of David's reign over Israel was forty years--seven years in Hebron and thirty-three years in Jerusalem.
A thousand is a specific number. It's not a few thousand or many thousands
It's a thousand. For instance I recieved a thousand dollar tip a couple months ago. It was a nice round number. $1000.00
The timing given in Revelation 20 is a very specific amount of time. In fact the Lord repeats it 6 times for clarity.
Great point, JGR.Psalm 91
5Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day; 6Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday. 7A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
So arrow number 1,001 will find its target?
That can't happen on earth. To believe that is overlooking the prophecies and what's written in the book of Hebrews.Shilohsfoal said:If someone is going to sit on David's throne it would have to be in earthy Jerusalem where David's throne has been.
