Wait... NC-17 Harry Potter?

I'm sorry this just seems a tad bit unethical for me (I'M CHAOTIC NEUTRAL!)

Wait... Slash

I'm guessing violence then.

...Oh... Nevermind...

Slash isn't violence; it's gay sex. (Whether this is better or worse is a question Christians have wrestled with for hundreds of years.)

Oh. Still nevermind.

I'm heterosexual, but I really don't see why everyone gets upset about homosexuality. I personally don't care what a person is attracted to as long as I have the right to like girls .

I just think it'd be a little less ethical because of the ages involved in Harry Potter (what are they, like 12?). If it were set once they're 16 or older, I'd have no reason object to it (although I still wouldn't read it).

Actually you and I agree there, I don't have anything against Medieval Faires... I went to one once, but I was just visiting not participating. Again it all falls under the scope of reason: do you go because you enjoy playing the part and whatnot... or do you go because you are so wrapped up in a fantasy world that you have lost touch with reality and and all the problems that creates. One day when I become a parent I will have no objection to taking an interest in my child's interests, that way I will at least know what they are doing and how involved they are...

I was thinking something similar about Barney, just no to that extent. I was laughing for a couple of minutes still.
And I agree, there are people who take role-playing too far and too seriously, but there are more people who take sport too far and too seriously (only because more people play sport - probably its about the same percentage), or computer games too far and too seriously, as well as stuff like music, TV, career, family, religion etc.

Precisely... the core of the problem is that when "something" becomes the sole focus and reality of your life that it eclipses all else and causes you to make (sometimes) irrational decisions.... then it has gone too far. Basically, parents need to remember, that while in today's culture we should allow our children to "follow their own path" that doesn't mean you shouldn't check on their progress from time to time.

I've found its easier to find more parents that are more worried about their kids getting into D&D the slightest bit than it is to find parents that are worried about thier kids getting obsessed with religion or football or patriotism. I hate living in the bloody country.

In South Australia, the Churches of Christ run each year a weekend sports camp, which is mainly for fun, and for people of all abilities (ie from none to lots). I have only been once, and the Sunday sermon was about 'white line fever' - how even the best of people become a bit silly with regards to sport - I am sure everyone can remember Craig McDermott's caught behind fiasco against the West Indies in which the Aussies lost by a couple of runs? Everybody was saying he didn't hit it (he did) and complaining lots and lots, making a massive fuss.

Huh! Nice to know I'm a sports illiterate in two hemispheres!

It's not even that I have a problem with it. It's just that I am so absorbed in school work, writing out new topics for threads on 5 different forums, feels like 50, and keeping up on my daily routines that don't really have time to read something I'm not all that intrested in. Thanks for the offer anyways.
