• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I don't venture in here that often, but I noticed that many of the threads are about looking for a mate. Now, I have absolute respect for those people who God calls to marriage, either now or at some other point in their lives. However, I know that Christ chooses me to stay single/celibate and to dedicate my life to serving Him in consencrated celibacy.

This thread is for all here who choose to stay single/celibate for the glory of God. I invite you here for fun, fellowship, discussion and whatever else there is to talk about. Come on over, all ye happy to be singles!

Phew! I'm glad there's someone else out there! I'm not certain whether I'm called to be single forever, I don't know, but I certainly don't think I want or am ready for a partner right now, and I'm more than happy and really content with my life in this respect.

I've often found this forum discouraging, it just seems to be thread after thread of constant complaining and negativity sometimes, I just don't understand it lol :p

I think we should try and make this into a thread of sharing, and the things we enjoy about our calling and life being single. That's what I was hoping for when I first browsed through here, and it seems to be severely lacking of it really! :)

Anyway, hello, and glad I'm not the only one.:)

Being single doesn't worry me. However, it is amazing to see in this forum, how many people seem to be unhappy with that status. The Lord is amazing, and I'm not going to spend every day moaning at Him for what I think He did or didn't do,... as if I should know better and tell Him how to do His "job". :)

Blessings to y'all:wave:

I completely agree with the two of you that there are many negative views on single life and we need to focus on the positives. To start the sharing, one of the things I like about being single is that I'm free to dedicate my time and energy to all my friends and family equally, depending on need. :)

I agree this is a good thread for those of us that are content. I don't feel it's a lifetime call by any means but for now I am happy as it is.

Problem I have is that everytime I post something like this the ones that aren't happy get offended, take my posts as insulting and continuosly it is censored. The only thing allowed it seems is to vent, be upset and disgrunteld, if you don't, you're just insensitive to others needs. It's lost all credibility, I'm bordering on just finding other folders as this is just not what I came here for. We should be able to open, honest and express what we feel without repercussion. It's a privately owned forum though, so if you use your freedom of expression, dont' be surprised if it's not allowed.

I think so many of us out here are just starving for a relationship(s). Just think with everything we see as we grow up, the cure all is having that intimite relationship. I know I fell into that hole for the longest. Really relationships with friends and God that should really be built and strengthed.

Part of me is glad that I am single so I can face my problems without leaning heavily on someone else. At the same time, still have those natural desires for a mate.

Personally if people give little more time for others, I bet wouldn't be so much discontent. Since always on the rush, there is little to no time to build new relationships.

Anyways just my thoughts on the subject.

Hmm, I avoid handing out personal insults, i.e. calling someone an idiot etc, even though I might occasionally think of it, I would want to avoid doing that anyway. But yeah, if I have an honest opinion about something, which some may not like, I just express it anyway, I can't be bothered going around scared of every little rule. If some don't like it, or report it, so be it. I've heardly ever regretted anything I've said on here ;) I don't know if my honest views border on rule breaking sometimes, but I agree some of the rules may possibly be over the top sometimes. A strict adherence to them all does result in an absence of the freedom of speech, agreed. :) As long as I'm not being malicious or saying something with just the aim to be horrible and out of spite, then I don't generally feel bad for it. Can't be bothered just saying what people want to hear - it's real life :)

I'm not necessarily happy or content being single, but I am relieved. Relieved that I didn't make a life-altering mistake with the wrong woman. Relieved that I don't have a family at this stage, because there's a chance I may just mess it up. I just found out last night/this morning about a couple guys that I know, and their mistakes that wrench my heart - and I'm thinking that could have been me.

's A good friend of mine seems to be in a similar situation. He has times when he wishes he were in a relationship, but only if he was with the right woman. He prefers being single to any negative alternative.

I love being single as well
As independent and carefree!
But also focuses more my walk with God!
I agree that it helps me focus on God. The holy apostle Paul spoke true when he said, "For I would that all men were even as myself: but every one hath his proper gift from God; one after this manner, and another after that." (1 Corinthians 7:7)
