• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Happy New Year!

Conditor alme siderum,
aeterna lux credentium,
Christe, redemptor omnium,
exaudi preces supplicum.

Perhaps Caroline could help with this:

Venez, divin Messie,
Sauvez nos jours infortunes;
Venez, Source de vie
Venez, venez, venez!

A little Catalan from PP?

Something Spanish from Maria Paredon? Or Art Nalex?

Something German? Polish? Gaelic from Shannon McCatholic?

Or maybe we should stick to English:

O Come Divine Messias
The world in silence waits the day
When Hope shall sing its Triumph
And sadness flee away.

Or something like that....

Happy Advent!

Oooh! Michelina, youve just lost some cool points, for calling yourseld great! Of all people why would you be full of yourself ;)

Charlie, it's a joke between Carrie and me. She's my best friend on OBOB and we kid each other all the time. (She's also a brilliant young lady, in case you haven't noticed, and truly lives to please God, which is even more important.)

No, you're not dumb, Charlie. You cannot be judged on what you don't know.
You're not dumb at all Charlie. Never, ever be afraid to ask your questions or make observations. It is how God created you, and that is always something to be honored and utilized.

Ask Miss Weisenheimer Skinner. You are just "learning", like the rest of us.
I know not of what you speak, dear Michelina. :holy:

If you nourish your life with personal and liturgical prayer, if you are supported by the advice of a spiritual guide, you will not be afraid to face the world. On the contrary, you will face it with a calm, positive, and open mind. -- Pope John Paul II

Advent is my favorite liturgical season, a time of refreshment. If you follow the Liturgy of Advent Masses and the Liturgy of the Hours in the Breviary, the themes coalesce at Christmas, my favorite Holy Day.
