To know real happiness, we need to understand what unhappiness is.
What does the bible says about unhappiness?
1. The word sorrow in the bible tells us much of what unhappiness is.
Unhappiness began in Genesis 3:16 because Eve disobeyed God, the following is what God told Eve:
Genesis 3:16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire [shall be] to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.
Because Adam disobeyed, God told him: Genesis 3:17 Cursed [is] the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat [of] it all the days of thy life;
The word sorrow means: `etseb - Sorrow: 1. pain, hurt, toil, sorrow, labour, hardship, pain, hurt, offense toil, hardship.
The greatest pain they were driven out from the garden and the wonderful fellowship they had with God was broken. In the garden of Genesis is where the unhappiness began. And the pain, sorrow, sickness and hardship still go on at this present.
Psalms 13:2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, [having] sorrow in my heart daily? how long shall mine enemy be exalted over me?
Listen to what King David said (sorrow in his heart daily) a man that sought-after God with his own heart. Nevertheless, sorrow was in his heart daily.
The reason David had sorrow of heart was because of the enemy.
Satan was the real enemy and he used David own son to try to kill David. Satan used Saul to try to kill David.
Sorrow, unhappiness, pain and hardship face everyone no exception.
Things of this world will never bring happiness no matter how rich or poor you are nothing in this world brings true happiness and everlasting happiness every moment of the day.
The born-again children of God who tries to do what the Lord would have us to do, still have pained, sickness, and hardships, in our human bodies.
Apostle Paul said: 1 Corinthians 15:19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
Miserable here in this verse means: eleeinos - Miserable: to be pitied, miserable
If you followed the word sorrow through the bible, you will know what unhappiness is.
True happiness comes from only one person, and that person is Jesus.
The happiness we can have in our heart every moment of the day knows one day all the pain, sin, and hurt will be destroyed and done away with.
1 Corinthians 15:26 The last enemy [that] shall be destroyed [is] death. Yes, there is coming a day when Satan and death will be destroyed. Satan is the author of death and sin. There is coming a day when Satan will be cast into the lake of fire forever. Now that is something to be happy about. Amen.
The happiness we can have ever moment of the day is the peace Jesus has given every saved child of God.
Jesus said: John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
The word peace here Jesus is speaking about has a lot of meaning: eirene - Peace
1) a state of national tranquillity
a) exemption from the rage and havoc of war
2) peace between individuals, i.e. harmony, concord
3) security, safety, prosperity, felicity, (because peace and harmony make and keep things safe and prosperous)
4) of the Messiah's peace
a) the way that leads to peace (salvation)
5) of Christianity, the tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and content with its earthly lot, of whatsoever sort that is
6) the blessed state of devout and upright men after death
Do you remember the day you ask God to have mercy on you and save you? You confess to Him, you were a sinner. You ask the Lord Jesus to come into your heart and save you.
It may not have been in those same words. The Lord Jesus understands heart languages. Jesus saw the meaning in your heart. And whosoever calls upon the name of Jesus shall be saved.
If you did that Jesus came into your heart, and His peace was with Him.
At that moment, you began to feel all the above meaning of peace.
Peace with God is real happiness every moment of the day. Jesus said, He will never take His peace away. Peace Like A River Began Flow Through The Heart When You Are Truly Saved.
If you are saved and do not have that peace every moment of the day, it is there, but Satan is trying to rob it from you. Satan cannot do it, but he will make you think he can if you listen to him, remember Satan is the author of lies do not believe anything says to you. Do not be fooled Satan evil spirits can speak to your heart (mind).
Jesus said, He would never take His peace away. The peace is in your heart. Stop letting Satan trouble your heart.
Psalms 13:5 But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation.
The salvation is Jesus. He is the one that brought deliverance from the power of sin and death (Satan).
Jesus is the one that gives true happiness.
If there has never been a time when you felt the meaning of what peace and true happiness really is; If I were you I would forget about all the times you thought maybe you were saved and settle the doupt question once and for all.
How does all that happen to a person that thought they were saved, and really was not.?
You, in your heart did not really want to be saved, remember Jesus speaks heart language.
You still wanted to sin, you just wanted some insurance just in case you died, because you did not want to go to hell. Who does?
There was a time before I really got saved in 1972 I would be going to a parties at the honkie tonk or deer joint is what we called them.
There would be times fights would break out inside the beer joint, and then there has been a time the fights started inside and went all the way outside.
Of course when anyone gets filled up with alcohol they feel like there are the biggest and bravest one there and usually that are the ones that would be fighting.
The point is on the way to the honkie tonk I knew what the alcohol and drugs would do, I knew they would make you feel bigger and bolder than you were.
So, just in case I got killed I wanted to be forgiven and saved because I did not want to go hell.
Therefore, on the way to the honkie tonk parties, I would pray for God to save, forgive and protect me from the fights so I would not get killed and go to hell.
You may be saying about right now to yourself, (Mickey is got to be joking).
It is no joke, that is what I would do. It is stupid at the highest level but was no joke.
Best I can remember every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday if you could find a place to party on Sunday, I would that prayer.
Every night when I went to bed to sleep, I would ask God to save and forgive me just in case I died in my sleep, I did not want to go to hell. Who does?
Even so, there came a time when the parties and sins came to an end. There was unexplainable sorrow, guilt, and shame that brought me to the end. I did not want to be even seen by anyone. I felt dead and was dead in sins.
But praise God for His wonderful love and grace. He sent the Holy Spirit to me and the Holy Spirit draw me like drawing water out of the well with a bucket.
I wanted to be saved in my heart; I did not want the sinful life no more, sin had killed me.
And I ask God to have mercy because I was a sinner. I confess to Him I was a sinner. I ask Him to forgive all my sins. I ask the Lord Jesus to come in my heart. I wanted a new life, a new beginning. And the prince of peace came in. Then I began to have real happiness and felt what the meaning of peace meant. That is real happiness having peace with God. I did not care if I died I was go to heaven, I was not worried about hell no more. The Peace Like River Began Flowing Through My Heart.
You can have that peace in you if you have ever been saved. It is an inward peace of the heart and mind, a peace that Jesus gives.
And it can be with us every moment of the day because He said He would never take it away. The peace is there but Satan is still loose trying to rob it from us. However, he cannot do it but he will make you and I think he can.
Even so, if you have ever been saved, Greater Is He that is within you than he that is in the world. The bible tells us that Satan is the god of this world.

If you realize right now that you were never really saved. In your heart you still wanted to do it your way and that way was sin. You did not want to go to hell if you die. Who does?
So you ask God to save you. You did not really want a new life you wanted an insurance plan in case you died.
Right now if you have come to a place in your life that sins are no longer a pleasure and it sure is not peace.
If you will turn to the Lord Jesus, confess that you are a sinner, and ask Him to forgive and save you He will. Right were you are right now. If you will in your heart call upon Him.
