i (and the ancient jews) believe that the whole body can praise, worship and even pray.
i think the body can do these things just as good as a mouth, but obviously the most important thing is the "heart" of worship.
by heart i mean what Scripture means when it says "and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead" which you might call your spirit as well.
c.s. lewis wrote (in his prayer letters to malcolm) that the best prayers are prayers without words.
he said that these are achievable, but difficult.
he also said that the whole body ought to be engaged in spiritual things.
whoever studies the whole mystery of psychosomatic hooo-haaa, would probably tell us how vast and deep the connection between mind and body is, so i figure, how much more the connection between three things, mind body and spirit
i often wondered why Scripture says (and seems to make an emphasis at points) that we'll have a bodily resurrection
i used to think we'd be like pure intelligences in heaven
it seems to me that the body is more important than i used to think
meh, my input for now is, i think the body ought to be engaged when its appropriate and when its able
i think we should take care of our bodies and i think there's a lot more to it but i guess i'll have to wait to really find it out
praise God for His mysteries =) i love 'em
