[QUOTE="Ana the Ist, post: 73937756, member: 302807"] Rabin was assassinated by a religious zealot. There's plenty of those everywhere. Well it's ironic to see that criticism of Israel, while knowing that in supporting Palestine....you would be supporting a theocracy that tramples the rights of minorities. It's only a problem when we're talking about Israel though. IMO? Absolutely. They're in an almost ridiculous position of being threatened with attack from powerful enemies from day one....and the insistence of people who have never experienced 8000+ rockets flying over head and a second intifada where multiple times a month suicide bombers destroyed innocent civilians. You tell people living in that situation that "well you can't just get rid of your enemies....that would be wrong". It sounds childish honestly. It sounds silly. So they're in an impossibly difficult situation....either live under constant fear of attack....constant fear of death.... Or find a way to eliminate the threat quietly and gently enough to make the situation morally palatable to all those fools who think they understand. They've tried the first, now they're doing the latter. Israel has an economy....but without our support, they face considerable dangers in Palestine and Iran. They'll move first, rather than wait to be attacked. Palestine will be gone overnight. Well give me a real suggestion then. Cutting off their allowance is a method for getting a 9yo kid to mow the lawn. We're talking about a nation here....they've got more to consider than your money. It's a small blip on the list of international players who have ignored the UN. I understand the Palestinians position. It's pretty rare though for anyone to lose what they've lost and get it back.
