It is time to rebel against them who are trying to control us.Discourage people with your words. That's what you are doing. You are trying to protect Halloween, by saying get rid of all sin. You are putting a condition on getting rid of halloween that is not possible.
Getting rid of halloween, however, is well within the realm of being possible. And I am going to do my part, praise God. And thank God for all them who wish to do likewise. Replace it with "freedom from debt" day.
No the mass of people don't want it; it is the sacred cow of commercial special interests who push it onto society. Get rid of halloween, and replace it with "freedom from debt" day - something that is in line with the bible and would improve our nation.Getting rid of Halloween is not remotely possible; the mass of people support it and laugh at you complaining about it being the worship of the occult. They don't remotely care, and instead are being driven to think worries about it are just coming from rather strange ranting people.

That isn't going to happen Doug.
People today latch on to Halloween because its just another excuse for a party (similar to what they do at Christmas, although Halloween at least is not the degrading of something traditionally and historically Christian). They are not likely to give that up for "freedom form debt" day any more than Cromwell got them to give up Christmas, until society as a whole changes back to a more civilised standard.
Fighting against Halloween make us look like Jack Chick or Westboro because its going for the wrong target.
You are not going to agree though, so I'll leave it there.
Well, today is the day after halloween, and with my new "no trick or treat here" sign blocking the path to my door - I had no halloweeners come by. And this morning with the money saved from not succumbing to extortion by the commercial interests and them addicted to halloween to buy candy for their spiritual addition to witchcraft, goblins, ghosts - I made an extra payment on my credit card debt. Think about what you doing people! It is time to rebel against them who are trying to control us.
Halloween is wicked and satanic. No matter how fun and harmless it seems for kids, it has evil origins
It blows my mind that Christians celebrate and/or think there's no problem with celebrating it
Halloween isn't wicked or Satanic.
It blows my mind that people believe absurdities and want to keep children from having fun. Christian fundamentalist have a tendency to be obsessive and imagine anything and everything they do not understand or know about is 'evil'.
THe "mass of people" don't want Halloween? You need to learn your facts. In terms of consumer spending Halloween is one of the top-ten holidays with $6.9 billion spent on costumes, candy, parties, pumpkins, etc. (See http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-agenda-halloween-20151012-story.html). I'm relatively new in my neighborhood, so while you were shut up in your house I was outside enjoying the costumes, handing out candy and getting to know my new neighbors and their kids. I had a great time, probably as good a time as the kids had. Did it cost me a little money? Yes, but I'm no Scrooge. Oh wait, that's a different holiday...No the mass of people don't want it; it is the sacred cow of commercial special interests who push it onto society. I am not saying your numbers are inccorrect, but those numbers represent extortion by them who's financial interests are pushing halloween. When I look up and down the street in my neighborhood, middle class, most of the lights are off, and just a few houses have decorations in the neighborhood - so I am saying the mass of people don't want it. Our neighborhood has fewer school age children admittedly, who's parents are into it because they themselves are brainwashed.THe "mass of people" don't want Halloween? You need to learn your facts. The media pushes halloween because they are on the payroll of the advertisers. What needs to happen is that halloween be replaced with a national holiday "Freedom from debt day". But the bankers, and the special interests groups - which you are supporting - would absolutlely hate it. The country would be infinitely better off.
You are making my point - people who don't want to have anything to do with Halloween are forced to keep their lights off and ignore the door when it rings.
My goal is to destroy Halloween. This year was a real success for me. I have been praying about it.
If those signs get going, popular, to block the doorways to houses - when a person drives through a neighborhood and see all those - it is going to show just how unpopular halloween is. And those same residences quit buying the candy (over buying ususally) for the (unwitting) trick or treat
agents of the financial interests -what's going to happen to that $6.9 billion then? And people commit to making an extra payment on their credit cards - saved from the candy buying, what's that going to do to the banksters?

Besides, "fun" is subjective. And we shouldn't be worried about kids having fun according to WORDLY standards.

I happen to work with an out-and-about Satanist. He tells me (and I have no reason to doubt him) that the high holy day for him and his fellow-Satanists is, indeed, All Hallow's Eve, October 31. That said, he is actually pleased that Christians help promote his holy day, unlike some folks who disdain unbeliever's masking of their holy day, Christmas.
You DO realize that the original Halloween was a day of wearing costumes to keep away evil spirits, right?
Children can have fun without celebrating a satanic day like Halloween.
Anton LeVey, the founder of the Church of Satan, adopted Halloween as a high holy day for his faux-religion. A lot of the things the CoS does were instituted specifically to parody Christianity and to do things that would annoy, upset, or frighten Fundamentalists.
Getting certain overly sensitive Christians upset was kind of the point. They were trolling before trolling was really a thing.
The fact of the matter is that Halloween has been part of the Christian calendar in the West for over a thousand years.
What self-professed Satanists think, do, or say should really be a complete non-issue.

There's nothing satanic about Halloween unless you want it to be.
When I celebrate Halloween, it's as the Eve of All Saints, the Feast Day on the Christian calendar which we remember all the saints who came before us and give honor and glory to God.
The only way Halloween can be satanic is if you, personally, choose to make it satanic. Me? I don't believe in letting the devil have any day of the year. Time belongs to God, every day belongs to God; so the devil gets nothing.
