I've been following White's responses and defense of Apologia.. That is because the dividing line is one of my staples during my long commutes.
Don't know much about Hall, except for the Theonomy debate he did vs Joel McDurmon.
Speaking of Theonomy, I was thinking of posting a thread concerning this issue. I've been hearing a lot of material from Gary Demar, Bojidar Marinov, some Greg Bahnsen. Also some Jeff Durbin.
Interesting stuff in which the post-millienialist view comes into play.
I'm not saying I'm convinced, but it's got me thinking.

Have a listen to Pastor Hall. I don't belief his grip is legit and it seems motivated by an old strain of Fundamentalism relating to outward holiness than any real biblical issue.

Hey, let's talk Theonomy. Start a thread and I'll jump in. I believe Pastor Hall won that debate but it wasn't one sided. McDurmon did a good job of explaining theonomy. Durbin makes almost believe it! haha

Yours in the Lord,

jm

I agree.. Dr. White has played excerpts of Hall's criticisms as he critiqued the points.. The"christian" news article quoted and used by Hall was an obvious hit piece. Dr. White rightly admits there is a real danger of some embracing Calvinism as a "cool" club, a trendy embracing and emphasis of a few habits that the greater Evangelical world looks down upon. In other words, those that do these things just for the sake of showing of their freedom, and having no real commitment to holiness or sanctification.
White and Durbin clearly explained and proved that isn't the case at Apologia.
I'm not sure why with all the craziness being embraced by Churches today, Hall, a pastor from Montana would be fixated on Apologia? Me thinks it's bad blood due to Durbin's theology ( Theonomy, which Hall brands as the Galatian heresy). Durbin is in McDurmon's camp. But I guess I shouldn't judge people's motives and intentions. :sorry:
Dr. White is Amillenialist, but has admitted that eschatology is not a controversy he wants to get mixed up in, except for full preterism which he believes (as I do) is heretical.
