• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

dabro you have to get on top of this problem otherwise it will affect your relationship with the Lord and prevent you from reaping the full rewards of that relationship. Even though drugs give you pleasure they are denying you full life through lack of spiritual growth and nothing beats standing firm in faith and being complete as a person bearing the fullness of his fruits. Face life head on and let his Holy Spirit take you on a journey, don't deny yourself this amazing gift and opportunity to be truly unique. You will learn through your suffering and the more you grow the less the cravings will be.

Sorry to lecture you, but I hate seeing young people wasting their lives on drugs and not reaching their potential or utilizing their talents to have a fulfilling life.

If you fall you get up again, ask for forgiveness and pray for strength to overcome this temptation. He will give you the power to win the battle. Have faith, pray always and never lose heart. PRAYER IS POWERFUL! Have heart it will get easier to resist as time goes on and you fill that empty space with purpose.

Seek help if you need to, get some help with drug counseling.

One day at a time brother. Sit back and think about the wonderful things there are to enjoy in this life! Think about all the other things you can occupy your time with other than using drugs and all the wonderful doors the Lord will open to you!

The Lord is still on your side though! And will be forever! Mark 2:17 >> On hearing this, Jesus said to them, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners"

Jesus came here to rescue the sinners from condemnation and bring them to repentance, so repent for this and get back on the Wagon. Ask for help and be honest with yourself because you have to truely "want what we have AND be willing to go to any length to get it" -- NA..

If you want to stay sober you need to have this desire to stay clean unconditionally. It is very hard and many things in your life will want to pull you back into your active addiction but restrain from these things my friend! Find new hobbies and activities you can partake in and you will reap eternal rewards. The way I looked at it when I straightened up my life is, Either 1) I get clean and sober NOW or 2) one of 3 things will happen I will end up in prison, in treatment or dead. All of which I will have to get clean and sober forcibly.

1 Corinthians 15:50 I declare to you, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.
Flesh and Blood could refer to your weakness to give into the temptation to drugs or alcohol! And we know there is no such thing as that crapola in the kingdom of Heaven.

1 Corinthians 15:42 >> So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption it is raised in incorruption

We live on a planet where there is tons of curruption but when we are raised to the Heavenly realms there is no such curruption so you might as well quit now! :)

Start thinking on an Eternal scale and start engaging yourself in things that are pleasing to the Lord that you can partake in for all Eternity

1 Corinthians 10:13 “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”

Honey, I know EXACTLY how you feel...I struggled with addiction for a while myself and have stood where you stand many times since trying to get clean. I had to realize that just as God PROMISES; I will NEVER be tempted beyond what I can handle, and better yet, God will ALWAYS provide a way out. Whether that means literally walking away or not answering the phone when you get a call or txt. And if there are certain people who bring back those old feelings just by their presence then you need to keep yourself out of those situations. As soon as you feel the slightest temptation, call on Jesus...that name makes the devil tremble in the corner. Know that you are not alone in this, God has your back even when it doesn't seem like it and so so many of us have been in your shoes MANY times; it doesn't make it O.K, but we are here for support.
