this is the guitar club. we talk about guitars and guitar music here. It is cool.

I only own a fender stratocaster, but I have friends. The youth minister at my church owns a high-end YAMAHA. I didn't think they existed. It has lights on it so you can see important frets in the dark. The sound is spectacular.

My favorite playable song is probably Blind man, just because Am pentatonic solos work with it very well with it and sound awesome.

And my favorite band is third day.

Me too!

I've been playing for three years now, and have just about mastered acoustic rythm. I own an Ovation Celebrity acoustic, and love it to death. My dad plays also, and taught me. He used to play out a lot, and has a nice amp set, mixing board and stuff. He doesn't use it much anymore though, so my brother and I transformed our garage into a studio with it, and set up my brother's drum set. We're in there most of the day playing away.

We don't listen to much Christian music, or today's stuff. It's all 70s/80s. Fleetwood Mac has become my favorite band, and Stevie Nicks my musical role model. :D

Count me in too! :D
I've only been playing for about 4 months now...sad thing is that I don't know how to use a pick....my guitar teacher was on this classical guitar kick for about 3 months...so I know how to just pluck the stings...and I can kinda strum but I just do that w/ my hand...not the pick (sry if I'm getting the wrong trems here...I've been playing violin too long..).
I also have an Ovation Celebrity...it's burgandy colored....I never used to realize how good it actully was untill I played my friends and couldn't really hear what I was playing lol ;)
I have an amp but it's crapy so I don't use it too often.

Can I play too? I'm an old timer and been playing a long, long time, but I still love to talk shop. I have a 410 Taylor acoustic/electric, a Fender Telecaster, An Epiphone Joe Pass jazz guitar (My Baby), a 1930 Dobro, a '68 Fender Pedal Steel, a '72 Harmony Lap steel, a '79 Epiphone A5 Mandolin and an old 5 string Banjo.

Guitar has always been my 2nd inst. because I play piano, organ and synths and there aren't a lot of keyboard players around. But, I can play blues and jazz on guitar as well as I can on keys.

I play with what I would call a progressive-folk Christian band and, since we have hammered-dulcimer an other acoustic inst. on stage, we don't use stage amps. I play through a Pod and run it direct into the PA.

I honestly love Ovatoins to death... those and Guilds. About the pick, they're really easy to use, and I think they're easier to use than your hands. You get chords cleaner, and gives it just a more solid sound.

Hey dudes, count me in too! I've been playin about a year(started on the acoustic), but I only know some of the chords and stuff. I may not be TOO good, but I can still play songs with chords in 'em. I also have......(no surprise).....an electric guitar!! I love the way it sounds, and that's what I'll stick with....the instrument type, I mean...

Another guitarist reporting for duty. I've been playing for nearly 10 years now (self-taught), and studying music for much longer than that. I play a 7-string electric built by the Carvin Custom Shop in San Diego, running through various Boss, MXR, and Vox pedals depending on the situation, and into a Carvin MTS 100 watt half stack. This rig has the best clean sound I've ever played with, and it sounds like the death of the universe when I drive it hard. I like playing heavier stuff; I started listening to Dream Theater a couple of years ago and it changed the way I listen to and play music.

I've been playing for 10 years as well. I have one electric and one acoustic. I just gave one of my electrics away. I have an Ibanez Talman and I love it!!! It's fits me perfectly and I love the tone I can get from it. I mostly learned from tabs, midis, magazines, a guy down the block from me and learning a lot of music theory. I used to play a lot of angry, heavily distorted music, but now I play much more well composed and peaceful sounding music, I still like to rock out once in awhile but I'm not as angry as I used to be. I've been learning a lot of praise songs recently. They're very fun to play!!!

I play guitar. For about... 3 years? Well, 4, but I only got "serious" about it 3 years ago. Yeah...

As to guitars I own... I have a Yamaha F-310, which is pretty much a cheap acoustic guitar, haha. And I have a Taylor 310ce, which is a less cheap acoustic

Stylistically... I play for our youth group. Mostly the songs that teens who've been in church the last few years would know... but I like to bring in newer songs a lot. And my pet project is revamping traditional music into a more contemporary style. Like... hymns and stuff.
On my own, I like playing stuff by Shane and Shane, and David Crowder (for which I need to get an electric, haha)
