  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

On Christmas day it snowed in southeast LA. Real snow that is, it may have been an inch or two but it remained on the ground all the way until the next day before the sun melted it. This is a big deal for us here.

It was nice and the kids loved it but as long as it doesn’t happen for another 15 yeas again I can handle it. Since then it has gotten back up in the low 70's.

thats awesome Michelle! I remember when a cousin of mine from Baton Rouge visited me in Alaska, he saw snow for the very first time. I was only 12 and thought that was the wierdest thing I'd ever heard "That someone had never seen snow".

I was thinking of you when I saw it on the news, Michelle!

70's? It'll be months before we see that again up here in Ice-land.

I'm praying for a milder winter this year. Last year was brutal!

Michelina, I have to go to Ice-Land (Manhattan) in late January. How is the weather at that time? Cold and snowy?
Actually, Art  , late January can be (comparatively) mild (35-45 daytime). That's when we get our "January thaw". But that hasn't been the case for the last several years. Our weather pattern has changed a lot. Bring a heavy coat and hat, "juans longas", etc. ;)

Wow, that is indeed a huge deal. I lived in California till I was 9 years old, and I have only one memory of it really snowing there. It was only about an inch, but I was exctatic to actually have a chance to play in snow. :)
