On Christmas day it snowed in southeast LA. Real snow that is, it may have been an inch or two but it remained on the ground all the way until the next day before the sun melted it. This is a big deal for us here.

It was nice and the kids loved it but as long as it doesn’t happen for another 15 yeas again I can handle it. Since then it has gotten back up in the low 70's.

thats awesome Michelle! I remember when a cousin of mine from Baton Rouge visited me in Alaska, he saw snow for the very first time. I was only 12 and thought that was the wierdest thing I'd ever heard "That someone had never seen snow".

I'm praying for a milder winter this year. Last year was brutal!

Michelina, I have to go to Ice-Land (Manhattan) in late January. How is the weather at that time? Cold and snowy?

Actually, Art , late January can be (comparatively) mild (35-45 daytime). That's when we get our "January thaw". But that hasn't been the case for the last several years. Our weather pattern has changed a lot. Bring a heavy coat and hat, "juans longas", etc.

Wow, that is indeed a huge deal. I lived in California till I was 9 years old, and I have only one memory of it really snowing there. It was only about an inch, but I was exctatic to actually have a chance to play in snow.

We had a white Christmas too! But unfortunately it meant that it got turned to ice on the roads due to freezing and by the next morning i was unable to attend Sunday Mass, which was an Obligation
