The guardians are a special kind of people set apart by God at the beginning of time to help his creations. Their parents are human while they have a sort of genetic mutation that gives them each unique special abilities. New guardians are sought out by others and brought to their home world that exists outside of time. The guardians can travel to an infinite number of times and dimensions where they are supposed to protect God's creation from evil in the world. Unfortunately they got lost somewhere along the way and most of them have been corrupted. But there is a small faction that still follows the way that the creator showed them at the beginning of time. Most of the members of this faction are between nine, the age when they are sent to the great cave on the other side of the planet from the main city, and thirteen, the age of assignment. The guardians are split into different groups once they reach the age of thirteen: teachers, whose job it is to teach the new guardians; historians, whose job it is to study the law, history, and sometimes prophecies of their people; protectors, who are allowed to leave the Silver City and study other life forms while keeping a look out for new guardians; and finally a young guardian could be assigned as assistant to one of the guardians on the council. The council makes new laws and decisions for the people while their assistants will train to take over in case one of them dies. When a guardian is nine they are given a pack of food and water and sent away to a cave where they must stay for a month and see if the Creator will share some of his wisdom. None of the guardians alive at this point in time have had this encounter with the Creator but nonetheless they uphold the tradition. Last thing, the guardians don't have names, they have designated numbers that are tattooed onto their right palms to replace names.
