Passing on today's e-mail from Gleanings From The Word Ministries International. Be blessed by what Kevin has to say. HisFireFly
With the weather forecast of temperatures in the -35 range, I dug out the extension cord for the car's block heater. For those who live in warmer areas, a block heater is a little electric heater that fits in a car's engine block. When it's plugged in, it warms the oil in the engine allowing the engine to turn over properly in sub-zero temperatures.
When it gets really cold here, the likelihood of starting your vehicle if it has been unplugged for several hours is often remote. The engine is stiff and hard to turn over, draining the vehicles battery and if you're not careful you soon have a dead battery to boot.
The battery's efficiency has already been reduced by the cold weather so it doesn't deliver the same charge as it would in warmer weather.
A cold battery and an unplugged car often means parking the vehicle until things warm up or a trip to the service center attached to the back of a tow truck.
It's kind of like our spiritual life. We fall away from the Lord and draw colder. We try and jumpstart our life with a quick prayer or a moment in the world, but they seem to have reduced their power with the coldness as well. It's hard to get fired up again without a concerted effort.
With the Lord's help, we can get back on track again, but a much simpler solution is to simply stay plugged into His power and not have to worry about it. If you have drawn cold here are some thoughts to getting back on track.
Recognize the coldness and confess it.
Get to worship service.
Crack open the Word
Look around for the opportunity to minister to someone else. You were created for ministry and few things prime our God pump more than working in His service.

He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. Luke 4:16 NIV
Crack open the Word
How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word. I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands. Psalm 119:9-10 NIV
Look around for the opportunity to minister to someone else. You were created for ministry and few things prime our God pump more than working in His service.
You, my brothers, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the sinful nature; rather, serve one another in love. The entire law is summed up in a single command: "Love your neighbor as yourself." Galatians 5:13-14 NIV
Until next time, if the fire for God is still hot in your heart, keep it stoked. If you've grown cold, get re-ignited today.
Hallelu Yah (Praise God)
Be blessed
