  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This has been a tough week for our family. On Tuesday, Terry's cousin, Joseph, died very suddenly. He was 55 years old and he died just like Terry died. He was talking to his sister in the kitchen, she left the room to make a phone call, when she returned she found him dead on the floor. It has brought everything back and my kids are having a tough time.

Please keep us in prayer as we travel to upstate Pa for the viewing and funeral this weekend.

Jean,
I feel so sorry for you and your family. I will pray for you and your kids.... I can't imagine how this stirs up the storm again and sets the waves to raging.. Just when things had settled down some too. Remember I will be with you in thought and prayer as you struggle through this weekend and the weeks to come.

The kids and I just couldn't believe how exhausted we were when we got home last night. It was a double "first" for us. The first time back upstate where Terry's family is from and the funeral for his cousin.

When we got home everyone just rested; later, we did get something to eat and we were feeling much better than. But, the exhaustion was just so deep.

Today is better. We're having a noreaster, so the weather is on the wild side. Lots of flooding, but so far we are ok. My bathroom ceiling is leaking, but if that's the most we get, I can live with it.
