Hi Mikael93,

Welcome to CF. I hope that you will find answers here that will help you. Look forward to hearing from you.

God bless,

Brian. :)
Basically, I accidently clicked on an Islamic link and that link has articles which are anti-Christian. Ever since I have doubted my faith and I really need help answering those articles. The thing is I need a private conversation with someone. Is it rulebreaking if I post those articles on this forum (not on this thread)?

I really need help with my faith.

Hey Christians! Before I start, I want to say i'm not truly a Muslim yet but I need help with Christianity. I felt when I deconverted, I didn't know why and I came to this forum for some answers. I've have looked around but this is my place for answers

 Welcome to CF!

I really hate assumptions, but in every case that I've examined an unbeliever, I find their head to be full of misconceptions re: Christianity, such that I commend them for getting away from such garbage. Maybe we can sort some of that out? Feel free to PM questions, esp those that others can't answer in a way that makes sense to you

I have been on Muslim Boards and posted back and forth on many topics. For the most part the Muslims I have discussed questions, use old Muslim scholar’s answers and do not really know how to defend these answers. If you start with the assumption that one conclusion is right, you see only the interpretation that could support that conclusion, even if the interpretation is very unlikely and there are much more likely alternative interpretations.

Anytime the Quran seems contradictory scholars say Muhammad was just being figurative and poetic and Christians are accused of the same thing and sometimes do the same thing to cover their own theology interpretation.

Hi Mikael93!

assalamu alaikum,

Welcome to CF... i always find that weird to say, i used to work with a girl who had Cystic Fibrosis... "CF"... anyways...

I have actually converted (reverted) to Islam. I went through the process so i could marry my long time girlfriend. I was always unsure about whether i should go through with the Shahada (sorry about my spelling error) however i went through a 6 week course with the ICV (Islam Council of Victoria) and they were able to answer any questions i had. They informed me that your journey through Islam (or Christianity or Judaism etc) is YOUR journey. IF it is for you, great. IF it isn't for you, great. It is your journey. No one can force you to follow a religion, you have to find it yourself through discussion, reading and reflection.

Feel free to Private message me or ask any questions you want to either myself or fellow CF members.

Personally, I am continually reading and researching all religions, mainly because i find it extremely interesting. I was brought up in a Semi Catholic/Atheist/Agnostic/open minded family setting. I still eat pork (mainly because i grew up with Bacon and I'm currently in Thailand which it's hard to get away from) and I still enjoy a chilled beverage at the end of a hard days work (ice cold beer always goes down well!). All in moderation though.

Cheers,

Musicology

Guys and girls, I simply cannot thank you enough for helping me with those articles and questions. I just have 4 more articles left but is it rule breaking if i copy and paste links on this thread?

You really don't know how happy I am over this. It means a lot to me that there are answers to lies about our religion.

Thank you very much!

There are lot of lies about Islam, too. :)

Islam is one of the Abrahamic religions. It seems to me that the diferences between Islam and Christianity are:

1. Islam has additional revelation that Jews/Christians do not consider valid. This is a difference Christians have with Mormons, too.
2. Islam is somewhat simplistic in what is required for salvation. Islam lists 5 behaviors necessary for salvation. Christianity, OTOH, doesn't have such a set of rules but leaves us with 2 general rules: love God and love our neighbor. How that is done is left vague and we have to figure out what constitutes love in particular situations.
3. Islam and Christianity have a very different Christology (view of Christ). Islam, as I understand it, says that Christ didn't really die on the cross, but an imposter was put in his place. As such, Jesus is simply another prophet like Moses and is totally human. Islam thus rejects the divinity of Jesus and the Trinity.

Musicology: I am so gla you posted and put into words my setniments. It is YOUR journey. "God" has no religion.

The main difference I find notice I say main between all 3 major religions--is the Jesus vs Muhammad deal. Following the lineage of Abraham, The Jews & Christians see Isacc as the legitimate heir viewing Ishmael was viewed as the housekeepers son and not a legitimate heir after Isacc's birth. the Christians say Ishmael was not treated fairly but still go with the Jews up to the point of Jesus where they part ways with them as well.

The Muslims see Muhammad as the prohpet after the revelation and the Christians see Jesus as the Savior after the resurrection. Otherwise the core teachings of Love and even the historic events of the day from the Quran and the Bible keep along the same lines in many instances. Perhaps you could study both these areas and come to a resolution as to which if either views are with the keeping of the character of the Father God.

God is not afraid of your questons, nor should you be afraid to seek answers. Seek and you will find. Look to texts outside the Biblical or the Quran for accounts of both men and their early followers. I believe God will lead you where you need to be, just be open to hearing from Him.

Enjoy Your journey.

Grace

Hi Musicology.

I grew up with Bacon, though no longer eat it. I also used to enjoy a cold one - but since coming to Islam haven't touched it.

I'm simply giving naseeha here, not telling you what to do, but maybe do some research on these matters from an Islamic viewpoint.
If you need anything let me know.
I'm a Muslim convert from Melbourne, also.

ATAD.
