i just finished watching GReenday's 'Wake me up when SEPTember ends" music video. it made me get all tear-y lol.. its a very emotional video and it kinda left me a little confused. I admire the guy's bravery and courage for enrolling into the army but i dont understand why when he says " i did it for us".. that doesn't make sense to me. It scares me too because i know that is the reality for a lot of Americans and soldiers everywhere, American or not. I wish that war and violence didn't exist because it just causes so much pain- physical and emotional.. especially emotional. it frustrates me too! Along with war comes so much other baggage u no? .. child soldiers, scandals like the ones where Iraqi soldiers were harrassed and treated like dirt, destruction of homes, and the list goes on .. it just makes my heart ache...anyway, those are just my thoughts...

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
