i heard that green tea helps when ttc, does anyone agree/disagree?

here are other things i read that can help....what do you think?

1000mg of Vitamin E

Robitussen can increase your crevical fluid - when it looks like egg white is usually when you are most fertile...

using actual egg white as lube is supposed to work as well. But YUCK!

Putting a pillow under your hips Sperm levels are often highest in the mornings

vitamin b complex. to get the folic and iron up.

drink a tad of brandy a night.

I have heard of all the things you are talking about, except for the Brandy. Most of them have good medical reason to why the help. As long as you are not going over board, why not if it could increase your chances. It is best not to use egg whites though because of the salmanala factor. They sell a lube called Pressed which is supposed to work great! Lubes, such as KY and create a barrier and kill the sperm. Vitamin B also helps with CM I think. I have also heard of Drinking Grapefruit juice to incease CM, alot of women I finding that it does work, it can also make you O early too, so they say.

HOnestly I don't know about those things.
But, I've heard Red Raspberry Leaf tea helps with all stages of 'womanhood.'
Also, I'd reccomend taking a multivitamin just in case your diet is missing something. Don't know if it'd help to concieve, but it should help the baby once s/he gets there.

I've heard about several of those things however when you are TTC you should also be cutting back on caffine so make sure it's decaf green tea.

Egg whites: be careful of salminila

Robitussen: not sure how safe that is for a women TTC

and Brandy...alcohol while you're TTC? Come on!

You really need to be careful when doing research, really it comes down to if it's God's plan then no matter what you do it will happen.

I wouldn't take anything I wouldn't want a possible baby to have so the medicine and alcohol are out.

Yep, stay off caffiene or limit it as much as you can.

Raw eggs...eww

Start taking prenatal vitamins now.

The month we got pregnant, I decided to lengthen the days we try 1 day on each end incase I wasn't ovulating when we thought I was and we got pregnant.

Definitely its a no go on the alcohol thing... the first month is actually VITAL in the development of the baby's central nervous system and you don't want your baby getting Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. Many get lucky and this doesn't happen... but I wouldn't risk it.

Caffeine... yeah I suppose I should think about drinking less of that... :help: of course, I didn't last time until I found out I was pregnant because it was a surprise baby... does it decrease fertility? I was thinking it decreased the strength of the man's sperm but did nothing to the woman.... but AFTER you get pregnant caffeine should be strongly limited. My obgyn told me the equivilant of 2 cans of pop or 1 coffee. I tried to stick to 1 can of pop.... I would love to cut it out of my diet altogether for health reasons. I'm working on it anyway! Pop is my achille's heel health wise ....

Caffeine is linked to early miscarriages which is why it is important to limit and if possible stay away from it even before you have conceived. Look at it this way, either you will be pregnant and not know it while drinking your daily amount of caffeine which can be dangerous or it will be very difficult to quit caffeine altogether once you find out you are pregnant. If you drink a lot not I'd cut back now because caffeine withdrawals can be pretty yucky and the first trimester of being pregnant isn't always a breeze either so why add more to that? That's my 2 cents.

I agree... the good news is that I don't drink enough to have withdrawls. Just enough for it to be adding empty calories to my diet... yuck!

Per day, or per week?

You got it, per day, but if you can switch to caffeine free pop (which is what I did during that time when I could not resist my bane!) its even better. Caffeine goes through us in... what... 6 hours I want to say? I read that it stays in the BABY for 24 hours!!! So you have a caffeinated baby... poor baby! That's what convinced me to switch last time. Still for the first couple weeks I had no idea I was pregnant so I was drinking pop and everything... I wasn't trying to get pregnant...

I was told to limit myself to 1 caffiene drink a day and most days I follow that, it's hard but most days I'm good.

This makes sense because if you were to buy a pop at a restaurant one cup full would be about two cans of pop... they give out huge cups these days....

Wow, that still seems like a lot to me. I figured it was per week. Then again, I had to go off soda for my kidneys last year, so I pretty much just stick to water and juice. :)

I also was surprised when I was told that... seemed like a lot! Its better if you can go without...

i haven't heard that caffine is linked to miscarriage. Although i don't have kids yet i have many friends and family who do and from their experiance they all went off tea and coffee during their pregnancy anyway.

If you are ttc it is always a good idea to cut out yeasty things as the yeast can cause problems.

Or that not all root beer is automatically caffiene free anymore.

Good thing I hardly go out to eat so the cup size thing shouldn't be a problem.
