  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I don't think I could make a decision on this - I would have to take into account the musicality, influence it gave other artists, how far ahead of its time it was...I really can't make that decision. My personal favorite song is When Paula Sparks by Copeland.

Hmm...boy that is a tough question..I would either have to say "Lose Yourself" by Eminem, or "Nothin` But A G Thang" By Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. There's a ton of other great songs, though.

How could you even THINK about saying that? Because they're "catchy"? Those are not worthy of that title.

Did they contribute to the history of music?
Did they revolutionize the musical society today?

No, it's rap. Rap didn't revolutionize anything except more violence in da hood and more chink-chinky for the playas. Shame on you.

The REAL greatest song in the world is, no doubt, Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. Ask any modern rock-genrenized artist. They probably agree.

P.S. You're a good guy, SSJB, I just need to hook you up with the goods, brotha.

That earns you blessings.

Eh, I can't say Bohemian Rhapsody without any doubt...it's definitely a contender, but there are so many awesome songs to choose from, especially when you take into consideration bands that aren't famous but have amazing music nonetheless.

Did they revolutionize the musical society today?

Nope. I think that "Bohemian Rhapsody" is highly overrated.

That's the "Pastoral" symphony, isn't it? I really like that one, too, although it's not really a "song." It always reminds me of Fantasia.

Yep, that's the Pastoral. And yeah, you're right, it's not really a "song", but I figured "song" could be stretched to mean "piece of music" in this context.

I hope you aren't being sarcastic, because I'd be really glad to finally have someone agree with me on that. That song isn't #1 on any list except the list of most overrated songs of all time.

If you want to listen to a rhapsody, listen to Gershwin's Rhapsody In Blue.

No sarcasm sir. I don't think as highly of Queen as most people, but I'd rather listen to "Somebody to Love" than "Bohemian Rhapsody".
