  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I consistently hear these statements, "There are things in this world that are beyond our understanding" and "God is just beyond our understanding". That claim however is made by people who seem to base their view of the world on people who undeniably have a lesser understanding of how the world works than we do now. also those statements seem to be made with the undertone that the person has a better understanding of the topic in which the statement was made. to me this is just a dismissive statement, one that seems to be made when all other cards have been played. how can one person make the claim that they understand more about the way the world works by relying on people who had a very primitive view point of the world?

I happen to disagree with both statements.
I also believe that the point of prophets, bible, spirit is to help us to come into communication with God from which one can gain an understanding of him (altho I do not believe this occurs often).
If I knew someone that I trusted who claimed to have interactions with God I would likely stand with their understanding until I have been able to find my own. It would not matter if they were from today or from ancient times.

As for understanding why the world works I would only pay attention to those who demonstrate for those who have tried to gain an understanding of such, and then if possible to replicate in some measure the means that they sed in finding out whatever aspect of the world.
