I would like to present in this thread some graphical and basic statistical results of submissions from the political compass test from various CF users. Along with the locations of each CF user on the political compass grid, I've included graphs showing data on religion/wordview, nationality, and gender.

No doubt many of you are familiar with this thread. This time, I decided to start a brand new thread where my political compass graphs and stats would be easy to find. The mods may be kind enough to sticky this thread too. I've added people who submitted their scores on the IIDB who are CF users as well. Anyways, here are the results based on 97 submissions:

(A) The Basic Graph

This graph shows the basic layout of CF users on the political compass grid.

Here are some simple stats:

Mean economic left/right: -2.42
Mean libertarian/authoritarian: -3.04

(B) Religion/Worldview

In the data, I have samples from 56 Christians, 31 nonreligious, 7 other (3 pagans, 2 Buddhists, 1 Taoist, and 1 Messianic Jew), and 3 undeclared.

This graph shows the scores according to religion and worldview.

Mean Christian values:
Economic/left right: -1.28
Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.49

Mean Nonreligious values:
Economic/left right: -3.96
Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.60

Mean "Other" values:
Economic/left right: -4.16
Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.73

(C) Nationality

In the data, I have samples from 77 Americans, 17 non-Americans (5 Canadians, 5 British, 2 Irish, 1 French, 1 Swede, 1 Norwegian, 1 Pole, and 1 undeclared European), and 3 undeclared.

This graph shows the scores according to nationality.

Mean American values:
Economic/left right: -1.87
Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.42

Mean Non-American values:
Economic/left right: -4.66
Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.75

(D) Gender

From the data, I have samples from 61 males, 32 females, and 4 undeclared.

This graph shows the scores according to gender.

Mean Male values:
Economic/left right: -2.06
Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.68

Mean Female values:
Economic/left right: -3.29
Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.55

I decided to try something interesting with gender and religion/worldview combined. I divided the data into 4 categories, including: 33 Christian males, 20 Christian females, 28 non-Christian males, and 10 non-Christian females (6 undeclared were removed).

Here is a bar chart showing the mean values according to gender and religion.

Mean Christian male values:
Economic/left right: -0.43
Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.39

Mean Christian female values:
Economic/left right: -2.85
Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.00

Mean non-Christian male values:
Economic/left right: -5.33
Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.04

Mean non-Christian female values:
Economic/left right: -5.06
Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.88

I'll leave it to you folks to draw conclusions on the graphs and statistics I provided. :)

Of course, if you haven't submitted your political compass score yet, then please feel free to do so. When I get a certain number of additional submissions, I'll update the OP of this thread to reflect the new data so it's easy to find. And please remember to include your religion/worldview, nationality, and gender along with your scores if it's not listed in your profile (of course, if you prefer to be "undeclared" in a particular category, then that's okay).

Hope you all enjoyed the analysis! :)

Hi folks,

I'm just bumping this up in case any people would like to make some more submissions. Please remember to include your religion, worldview, and gender along with your scores (you could choose "undeclared" in a category if you wish). Or if you've already submitted a score and would like to revise it, that would be fine too. :)
