  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Greetings, I decided this past year that I wanted to put the normal progression of life on hold once I graduated from college and go onto the mission field. I have accepted a position at a missionary school in Puebla, Mexico and am hoping to start up an AP Calculus program as well as an AP Physics program. I ask for prayer, both that my heart would be prepared for this trip and that I would successfully raise all the support I need ($8,500 for each ten month period) . Does anybody on the mission field have any suggestions for me?

Wow, you have taken on a lot of risks at once. You might want to see what their regional board of education is doing, and look through all the groups that might benefit from the AP program -- there might be some funding available for your ideas.

Also speak with local colleges, so you're not taking this all on yourself. They like to recruit potential students by hosting AP, encouraging interest in their college. Some have departments or individuals assigned to connect with local teens, and start partnerships.
