  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Okay here is the deal, I just graduated from Nursing school as an LPN and I start my new job at a hosptial on January 8th. I am going to go back to school to get my RN but I just cant get myself motivated to get everything in order to go. I feel like I have been in school for forever! I went streight to college after highschool and I feel like this is my first chance to take a break. Anyone else been here??

I have taken too many breaks. When you find a job where you make decent money and you don't hate it is the time that it is most difficult to change. There was a period of time I had quit school temporarily, 6 months. I was making pretty decent money for the area, but then I had a manager change and lost a promotion and felt like the long hours I worked were in vain. So I decided to go back to school full time and quit that job. Sometimes a short break 6 months or less is necessary to get our lives straighten out.

Yea, sometimes breaks are good for us. I am just scared that I am going to get comfortable in my job as an LPN and not want to go back when I really do. I know that sounds silly but I talk to people all the time that say they ment to go back but never did. I guess when it all boils down to it I am just afraid of failure and not being the best and the highest I can be.

Actually this is a surprisingly realistic concern. Most people who leave college and get jobs don't go back. So it might be a better idea to go straight back to college. Trust me, having a four year degree is worth it.

Well I want to get my associates. I really want to go back and get my Nurse Practiioner but they have just passsed a new law that states that you can no longer just have a masters degree and be a NP you have to have a doctorate degree and In my opinon If I am going to get a doctorate degree I am not gong to be a Nurse I am going to be a MD!!!!
