Grace
Twas an ugly storm that struck that night,
My house with fury, fearsome might;
Pounding such force, it would not quit,
Tearing me apaprt bit, by bit, by bit;
It drowned the place I'd known so well,
This vicious, hating beast from hell;
Then when, at last, he thought I was done,
Along came rescue in God's only Son.
He looked at me so pitifully,
Loving and promising to rebuild me?
There's nothing left, said I to him,
I felt the future looked dark and dim;
But, with a smile upon his face,
He said, "I'll save you by my own grace."
With that bright hope, and through a tear,
I answered his call:"Come here! Come here!"
I want to live, said I in trust,
Rebuild my house how'er you must!
To my surprise, he jumped right in
To rid me of my stormy sin;
He ripped and pulled away my walls,
He stripped me of my very all;
And piece by piece, he then replaced,
And so, he built me by his own grace;
New rooms of love to welcome in
Another house so stained by sin;
To broken walls, a warm embrace,
A promise to rebuild by his own grace.
