I really like this, Faith! God does care how we present things to others, because His main goal is that none should perish...and to have fellowship with Him.

Our speech is to be seasoned with salt (love)...IOW, make the message that we have to offer "taste" good to the ear, (not to be confused with ears being tickled..that is another animal) so that people will want to taste and see that the Lord is good and His ways are the best.

Condemnation keeps people back IMO, repels them.

You think a person can't be convicted by the Holy Spirit??

If all these pages are to say its a good thing when someone reaches a point where they sense the HS showing them their sin...then Ive missed the point all along.
Maybe I was the only person on the forum reading that it was about theor spouse somehow influencing them to see the sin.

I was so badly reading that I thought we were discussing how one believer treats another who is in sin...and the spectrum between grace and truth. Even intervention came up, which I cant fit with this idea of letting the Holy Spirit work on them in His way....again, Im thick that way sometimes. I feel bad to have posted all those posts discussing one person/spouse approach to another spouse who is sinning....when this has been a pure gospel redemption message all along. Why cant get behind that right?

Forgive me, I was unaware you were saying something this basic, simple and true, that its just great when the holy Spirit convicts someone and they get sorted out. This is great, so as fellow believers we can protect ourselves but we can not go so far into looking at someones sin that we forget the HS is going to do that anyway with or without us. We are there AS agents of grace indeed as WE focus on God and the holy spirit in US works us out similarly, maybe even simultaneously....thats great stuff.

Good words and I cant agree more. With a supportive spouse and love and sacrifice, making their very life a living witness to grace and longsuffering, we can SHOW them what grace looks like, as opposed to all that stuff about holding people accountable and calling out sin etc. Ive no idea how I could have misread this so badly....my mistake
