  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I highly recommend this very apt work by Gordon H. Clark on determinism and responsibility. These are issues with which many Calvinists frequently struggle. For some this will be review, for others it will be an eye-opening article.

I will try to get to this article. I have read a number of good thing from the Trinity Foundation web site.

Note: Trinity Foundation is a John Robbin's site. I see Robbins as little more than a bomb throwing, malcontent. He is the Gary North (another bomb throwing, malcontent) of the anti-Van Til, anti-Reconstruction wing of the Reformed Churches.

Yeah, I don't really have a lot of use for John W. Robbins. His stuff is highly polemic, but in a provoking way. He doesn't seem to have edification or correction on his mind--just outright contention.

I'm still ambivalent about the Clark/Van Til controversy. I need to read up on it more.

That was a tough read!
I could NEVER expect my Armenian friends to wade through all that.
I gotta "boil that cabbage down" some. lol
I did see all the necessary ingredients for a solid answer, but if brevity is the soul of wit, this guy is nearly witless in spite of his scholarly articulations.:sorry:
I gotta condense that down to where it will fit on a sesame seed bun, go well with fries, & all wash down with a 8oz. Coke.:yum: ^_^
