Well my long time girlfriend that I haven't seen in a couple of years came to stay with me a couple of weeks ago for the weekend. It was SO nice to hang out with her and do girly stuff. She paid for us to have massages and manicures and pedicures. We went out to eat and went shopping at a store called Charming Charlie's that is fabulous and reasonably priced. She isn't a widow but has been single for about a year. She told me she didn't know if she could handle being single and now that she lives alone she is really really enjoying it. She is also a General Manager of Red Lobster so her job takes up alot of her time but still it was great to see her, and it made me feel better about my singleness as well. It was really refreshing and God sent for sure!

Another day at work (work helps me in my grief) and I love my job. My eldest son (27 and married called in after work on his way to see my daughter and her daughters before going to his in-laws for supper. I feel blessed as I had a beautiful 30 year marriage to a precious daughter of His.

We are all blessed with whatever time we had. Just try to remember that God has our best interest at heart and someday we will all be together in eternity and no more sorrow or suffering.

Thank you for sharing that wonderful blessing. Our children are part of the healing process, and it is such a blessing from the Lord when they call us or even drop by unexpectedly. It makes our day. Thank you for also letting us know that you were blessed with a beautiful 30 year marriage to a precious daughter of His. That alone is worth praising Him for. Such a wonderful Father we have. May you continue to acknowledge His blessings on you for He continually loads us with them.

My husband passed away almost six years ago. I am blessed to be raising our daughter. She is 13, and more beautiful every day. I can look at her and see something of him, in her eyes and in her smile.

What a lovely idea, CW!!

Today has been a good day. I have been very anxious for several days, and have not been able to go out at all, but my d has come home for a whole week from university, and today we went into town and went shopping. Nothing exciting, just an ordinary day with my daughter, and a whole week to look forward to.

I am a bit concerned now about tomorrow. I have to try to get to church, and my daughter says she will go with me, but I have not been well so it may be tricky.

However, today was good, and sufficient to the day are the troubles thereof.

I see a lot of my ex in our d as well. At his requiem I said that in our daughter he has left us the best part of him. He took the more difficult bits with him; he left us the best.

I am very blessed indeed in my daughter, who is lovely. She still thinks I am the best mother in the world, in spite of everything. Love is a wonderful thing.

Catherineanne, just the idea that you are going to try and go to church tomorrow and to realize that it is not good to stay home all the time says a lot about you. You know what is right to do and you are going to try and do it. It also sounds like you have a very lovely daughter, and you are correct. Love is a wonderful thing. The best love is the love that Jesus has for us. Enough to die for us. How He loves us, Catherineanne.

My kids are my reason. I was blessed with wonderful kids. I see their dad in them. They have taken on the task to do a lot of the things that my husband use to do around the house. They help me cook, build new furniture and just are available for many task. Their grades have not dropped. I feel blessed and encouraged.

I was blessed to be able to go out to dinner with my sister in law and my good friend that is visiting from Kansas. Unfortunately yesterday she called me and is in the hospital for Bronchitis. Hopefully she will get out today. And even though I miss my husband, I know he is in a FAR better place than we are, and that I WILL see him again, so I'm not too sad, it's just bittersweet.

Softbreeze, thank you for posting such wonderful blessings from the Lord just for you. He truly loves us so much. It is sometimes hard to comprehend just how much He loves us. But we can certainly testify that He is with us encouraging us daily. What a blessing! It is also wonderful to hear that your children are right there with you going through this journey together. "He daily loadeth us with benefits".

It has been ten years since my husband went Home to be with the Lord, and I can honestly say as the days go by, it is getting sweeter and sweeter because my fellowship with the Lord has grown sweeter and sweeter. I also know I will see my husband again in Glory, but until that day, I will continue the journey my Saviour has given me. Isn't He the most wonderful God ever? Don't you just love how He takes care of us?
I have a blessing - I got up this morning, was able to walk with the two good legs the Lord gave me, I was able to see with the two good eyes He gave me, and was able to read my Bible with the sound mind (somewhat ) that He gave me. What a blessing!

All that and you were breathing too, huh? . Yep Our God is an Awesome God and I am thankful each day to know Him. I would not want to spend one minute without Him as my Savior. If only people knew how dark the world would really be if God removed Himself from our presence totally.
