Are there any other fans here of this show? I absolutely love it...and Alton! I must confess, I have a bit of a crush on the guy. Crush aside, the show itself is highly entertaining and informative. Even if you don't much care for cooking, it's worth watching.

Good Eats is amazing! Alton Brown is, like, the food-geek's Luke Skywalker. He can cram more cool factoids into a half-hour show than most hosts can manage in an entire season, via the shrewd gimmick of... talking really fast.

Food Network in general has kind of gone downhill lately, I feel. But Good Eats stands as their most reliably cool program, and one of the most entertaining things on TV...

I agree... I don't watch much on Food Network anymore, but I *always* make time for Alton At 6pm and 10pm (and 9pm on Wednesdays) I'm sittin' on the couch ready to see and hear what cooking wisdom he has to give LOL

ETA: Does anybody have any of his books?

I think it is a pretty good show. I really enjoy how Alton explains the chemistry behind it all.

CelticGrace, I have a copy of "I'm Just Here For The Food" which I had Alton sign at a book signing in Richmond,VA in 2002...or was in '03? Anyway, would you believe I made the trek all the way from FL to VA to meet him?!? THAT is devotion...or stalking...LOL! Just kidding.

I love watching that show too, I love the chemical explanations and the silly skit like portions that go with them and the cast of characters. It's the most different cooking show on FN I think- well that I have seen in anycase.

Alton is cool. I bought my wife a salt cellar for Christmas one year.

My Wifey loves this show and I watch it right along with her.
Alton is a very interesting fellow. Even though I am completely uninterested in cooking, this show holds my attention.
Highly recommended, even though my Wife criticizes Alton's technique sometimes!

i love Alton, too!! the way he's no fru-fru, but just plain, well, good eats! and i love all the visual aids too! he's so funny--its an all around good show!
