Golden Gate to be opened by Jesus?

There is a crisis in Israel these days centering around the site of the Eastern Gate. Apparently this gate is not supposed to be opened until Jesus comes. It is amazing that we have this gate existing today. Is this physical evidence of prophesy? Would scripture allow for this gate to be opened by a leader pretending to be Christ or not?

"These days?" That has been an issue for about 500 years. When Islamists took over Jerusalem, they understood the OT prophecies and did 3 things to stop it.

1 - sealed the gate
2 - built a house of Islamic teaching against it on the inside of the wall
3 - put a cemetery in front of in since no holy man would soil himself by walking thru a cemetery.

Right, but there has been an incident in the news where this gate was involved. Recently.

Right, but Jesus will raise the dead, so the way will be clear of course.

I take it you feel that God will never allow anyone to enter in through that gate until Jesus comes?

That is the gist of what the prophecy says; only Messiah can open it again.

If that were the case then it would be impossible for anyone to open it. That would be a test and physical evidence. I am reluctant to accept that, however tempting it seems. Because that wall was only built long after Jesus lived, and I don't want to be dogmatic about it being impossible to destroy. If someone blew it up or opened it, it could destroy people's faith if they thought it was absolutely impossible.
