The articles were ummm, different. They made it sound as if there were never Magi, but that the whole story was made up like a parable. I disagree.

All were very valuable and were most likely helpful in supporting Joseph and Mary's family. What I've heard is that the gold was needed for the family to survive and was necessary for their trip to Egypt . (God the Father provided). The myrrh was a used in burials and was a sign of what was to come ie Jesus' death and subsequent burialm and of course, His resurrection. The frankincense (incense) was a symbol of prayer offerings and the High Priesthood.

Maybe I'm just repeating the article, sorry if I'm doing that. :)

I also disagree. Kind of made the story out to be an urban legend that may or may not be true. But I still got what I wanted to know from the articles.

Oh no Pamela, all you did was sumarize what the articles went into great length to say. Quite nice, actually!
