  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Gold dust

Hi there!

I once had a Christian friend who told me a story about a time in his past when he was very depressed and considering suicide. He said that in the depth of his depression he went into his church, kneeled down, and prayed with all his heart, and when he opened his eyes he saw very fine gold dust falling down onto him, and he was filled with peace.

I was just wondering whether this gold dust story is familiar to any of the Christians who read this (whether you have either experienced it yourself, or heard of someone else to whom it has happened).

Just curious.

I have heard this reported in the Charasmatic forum. I don't limit God's ability to do signs and wonders, but signs and wonders would not be necessary for me to have faith in God, although I'm sure that the miracles of life occur everyday, whether they are noticed or not. I think a search in that forum may turn up some infornmation for you.

signs and wonders

Sign and wonders can come to Saved people, If you can believe what you are seeing or you believe thats not really God, I saw at one time, a shooting star break in half, one half going one way and the other half going the other, it was a answer to a prayer. I knew my Grandson would be a boy, before he was ever born, with out ultrasound being done. You ever hear the saying ( you know what you know, because you know.

I have heard about it and saw it on a speaker once. I can't explain it, and don't really want to.

I have never heard of or seen gold dust falling and to the best of my knowledge there is no incident recorded in the BIble like that. There are however scriptures that seem to infer God's blessing or favour on someone is relative to them having gold. Although I can't relate to the gold part, I can relate to the peace. My experience was one where my life was threatened by fire (my car caught on fire) and as I didn't want it to explode and do knows what damage, I had to get in close and put it out. I was very scared and asked the Lord for courage. As I stepped forward a supernatural peace fell upon me and remained until the flames were extinguished. As soon as things were safe, the peace left and I displayed all the normal symptons of shock. (cold, shaking etc) I didn't do much for the rest of that day except sit down and marvel (with thanks) at what had happened. Sorry I can't be more help on the gold part.
take care

That seems familiar to the people who lift up flipped cars to rescue loved ones, or are bound with some 'supernatural' power in the heat of the moment to do things that would otherwise be impossible. I guess that's just proving how much God loves us and how he'll help us in our times of need
