Hi everyone, this is the first time I've heard the term Quiverfull! Considering that we already have 3 kids and because of health reasons God has made all birthcontrol not an option for me, I thought I might want to check this board out! I do have a medical condition called PCOS that makes it hard for me to get pregnant, but not impossible by any stretch. So I'm expecting to get pregnant again.

I hav ea question for you all, how did you come to be a "quiverfull" family?

To be honest I am pretty nervous about having another one. We were doen with 2, but then had a miscarriage and that changed everything. We decided to try again and got pregnant our first cycle! Now here we are with three and feeling quite done! But God must have other plans for us. I've tried bc pills in the past and had HORRIBLE reactions to those, and am currently on Depo Provera. But that runs out in a week. Has anyone else been forced into the quiverfull status? Please don't misunderstand - I'd love to have tons of kids! But my dh can't handle kids very well and was ready to pull his hair out with just two - now? Don't even ask! So I'm married, but sometimes a single parent!:sigh:

edited to add - I believe we suffered our miscarriage because of birth control pills. The details are a mess, but I'm pretty sure. I'll never forgive myself for it. I can tell more if anyone is interested.

Well, I wasn't forced into it. I chose it. So I don't know how much help I will be. But, for us, we came to quiverfull by prayer and study. Plus, we felt led to have a large family anyway.

Yeah, we were sorta forced into it but no need to panic. It doesn't mean you'll end up with a baker's dozen. We didn't.

Like you all forms of birth control became non-options. My body does not like being meddled with. Our spacing is erratic & we have some big gaps -4yrs between oldest & 2nd, six between the two girls, so believe me it only happens when God himself wills it.

I was sorta forced into it also... I have gotten pregnant over and over again even Using bc. ;)

So, you're going off Depo... you may never have another baby, or you may get pregnant right away. It's all in God's timing. AND, He takes care of the details~ on paper my household shouldn't work. But it does.... and we're doing better now(8 kids, 7 still live at home) than we did when we only had 2 kids. :)

You can read about how I got here in the "why are you quiverful" thread at the bottom of the QF page. Short story: prayer and study, prompted partly by the tape "what's a Girl to do" from www.visionforum.com.

Sometimes my DH isn't the best either, but then, neither am I. :( www.charityministries.org has a series titled "the Godly Home" that is FREE and VERY helpfull.

(Welcome)
