  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

They grew King Kong for this matchup. Obviously this is not your grandfather's Fay Wray-clutching Kong.

You're not implying that Hollywood is inconsistent I hope! Yes, he has grown a lot since 1933. But that's because he was just a young chimp then and now he is a full grown gorilla!

Of course not. I'm sure there's a completely plausible explanation!

One note: you cant just proportionally scale up a creature because essentially a creatures mass is a function of its linear growth to the 3rd power, while its capacity to support mass (cross sectional area of bone) is a function of linear growth squared. Mass overtakes the capacity to support it, unless you start messing with the proportions of the creature and end up with a very squat looking gorilla.

That would make me watch that movie.

They shrunk Godzilla a lot.

In the older movies King Kong can climb a building to swat at planes, but Godzilla can just shove them over as he wanders past them.

I have two vague memories of numbers from when I was a child of: King Kong 50' and Goldzilla 80m (over 250').
