I believe C.S.Lewis in one of his books observed that a local church where there was the greatest diversity of members was best, because we do not easily learn important lessons from people who are just like ourselves. It appears (if I understood you properly) that you have confirmed that. Isn't it wonderful how God has included us all in His plan (as in 1 Cor 12)?

I guess I didn't realized that Romans Chap 14 and 15:1 - 13 would be taken as a homework assignment. (LOL) I prayed before I posted on my thread for HIS guidence and HE lead me to read 1 Peter and Romans.
I was confrontd one time in a Church that I was not praying out loud and therefore I was a great sinner. Some churches do have a tendency to preach the no way out of it approach. But for me, my preference, is Matt 6:5 - 14. The reason being that I feel HIS presence in me more (one on one).
And HE is ever constant in my life.

These very words of JESUS did not come to meaning for me for some time. I was baptized again but did not have the Spirit of truth to understand in my own life what I needed to do.
Matt 7:13-14
Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. (14) but small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life and only a few find it.
Meaning that I was to glorify GOD in all things. Jesus said in John 14:6-7 "I (JESUS) am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the father except through me. If you (REALLY) knew me you would know my Father as well. From now on you do know Him and have seen Him."
John 12:44-50
JESUS cried out. "When a man believes in me, he does not beleve in me only, but in the one who sent me. (45) When he looks at me, he sees the one who sent me. (46) I have come into the world as a light so that no one who believes in me should stay in darkness."
Jesus goes further in saying that That those who hear HIS words and does not keep them that HE (JESUS) does not judge them because he did not come to judge the world but to save it. JESUS also says that GOD the FATHER is the judge and that JESUS did/does not speak of His own accord but the Father who sent HIM commanded HIM what to say and how to say it. I (JESUS) know this command leads to eternal life. We know and love our FATHER in heaven through the light of JESUS.
John 15:1-17 is a good description of what Matt 7:13-14 means to me. Also John 6:44-58.
Mark 10:23-27 When the apostles asked who then can be saved. JESUS said, with man this is impossible, but not with GOD, all things are possible with GOD.
So I live and love every thing in live and through this I glorify GOD, my FATHER, JESUS my Savior, And the HOLY SPIRIT of truth.

Remember who JESUS is. HE is our savior. HE is the way back to our FATHER - GOD. HE preached the truth from our FATHER, GOD, our creator over all things seen and unseen. For me to just know how truly loving God is to all of us. How did HE show it? John 3:16 "For GOD (our FATHER) so loved the world (man) that HE (GOD) gave (gives us) HIS one and only SON, that whoever believes in HIM (JESUS, and that through JESUS we know that GOD is the Begining and the End as HE) shall not perish but have eternal life." God loves us so much that HE wants us to have what HE wanted for us at the time of HIS creation of man. That we would not die of the human flesh and that would be that - the end.

For me:
All Christians regardless of which religion or denomination they belong to as long as they have the faith that can only be brought forth from the SPIRIT of Truth all belong to the Unity/Body in Christ who is the head of the church - HIS church. Not your church or my church but HIS church HIM...All around the world. I may belong to a church where all are in the Spirit and praise and worship HIM while we are together the whole time. Say that is the arm. Someone else may belong to a church where they are quiet in prayer. Some belong to a church where they study together the Word of GOD. Some belong to a church where most are suffering and need the altar for prayer. The unity in Christ has many parts and each part is needed for its purpose through HIS plan.
When a church says to another church you are not giving your people all that they can have through salvation ex. (correct me please someone if I am wrong) speaking in tongues, I have not been to a Baptist church and heard anyone during fellowship speak in tongues. Yet I have been to churchs where they speak in tongues; sort of like that. That does not mean that one or the other is not part of the unity/Body in CHRIST. One is an arm and the other is a foot. Both are deeply needed for the body and if one suffers the rest of the body does too.
This is the suffering of the church right now - Some churches don't want anyother to be needed but them. This can not be achieved.
This has been weighing heavily on me lately. This is what I need to pray for - that all christians from all the chritian churches be reunited in the Body in Christ with its many needed functioning parts for HIS purpose. We need each other to be strong. It is Satan and only Satan who has come in to our minds where those think certain stronger feelings on there purpose is the only needed purpose. It is not the only one.
My Heavenly Father how I love you. I praise your name above all. I thank you for all that you have taught me through JESUS your son, my Redeemer, without YOU I am but just a lifeless soul in a shell. I pray for your Church, the Body in JESUS and HE as the Head of it. I pray to You that all will come to realize just how much they are part of YOUR Church through JESUS. I come before YOU and ask for forgiveness in the way I too once looked at others not like me. I know how much we all mean to you and how you long for us to all come back - we are baptized of the Spirit of truth. I ask this in the Holy Name of JESUS, your one and only Son who through HIM I am saved by your Grace and have eternal life with you.

Welcome PM - Hi Iktca Gee I didn'y kow you are 52; I'm 53.
This chapter has been very hard for me; I could read it and say what it meant as it is, but that did not make sence to me on my personal level with GOD. So I started writing it all down in my Bible Journal, sorting things out in my mind. I can only respond to what I felt and wrote about me.
Because of my belief in JESUS, his death and resurection; I am justified by GOD as one of His children.
Now here was and is my lesson from GOD. I am constantly encouraging others in their lives in that through GOD all things are possible. The problem I have always had was encouraging myself. I believe HE can do all that is asked but when it comes to me I doubt myself so badly that I have actually weakened in my faith in doubting that HE can heal me personally. AS I wrote and wrote HE was talking to me. He brought me to realize that if I am to truly help others I need Him to heal me personaly.
Certain things that I have prayed for healing have not happened - I have failed time and time again.
But now I know that I fail because I do not trust GOD to work with me here in this area. I have relied solely on myself and not Him. He loves me too and wants to shape me into who I am to be. I used to feel that praying for myself was selfish. It is not at all if I need to change.
Lord, I am justified by you as your child. I want so much to serve you in everyway you lead me. I thank you for Iktca who, through him, you finally reached me on myself. I am so very sorry not doubting your help in my personal healing. I doubt nothing else about You LORD but now I see that if I can not trust you enough on my behalf how can I really do your work. Please take my weakness away from me; strengthen me. I believe you are in my life to shape and mold me one step at a time. I will work with you, LORD. I will not try anymore to go at anything without you. I am ready for your works in my healing. You said ask and it will be done. I'm asking and believing your word for me. I ask this for myself in the Holy name of JESUS who was sent by you to die for my sins and justify my eternal life with you. Amen...

I have learned the basics of GODS' Word and apply them to my life yet I am still in the young learning stage of my growth. If I neglect GODS' teaching for what ever reason I have - there should be no reason to do this I take what I have learned so far and done the same; neglected it. I loose my ability to see HIM. I need to stay focussed on HIM and let HIM teach me. I need to become the totaly obedient child. No greater teacher is there than HE.
Lord, do not let me ever forget for one moment that it to serve you that I am here. That I may continue to ask WWJD when that "fleshy side" tries to take hold of me because by asking you it is driven away instantly.

Revelations; The Revelation (unveiling) of JESUS CHRIST.
The very firt time I read this chapter was around 1985, I couldn't understand any of it though and it seemed pretty scary but because of the promise that I would be blessed, I read the Book. But HE also promises another blessing for those who hear it and take it to heart what is written in this prophecy.
The time is near, although 2000 years ago this was written and most likely each generation could relate that it was near in their age of time; that, for me is its true beauty of this Book. That it can be related to all times. What is our time, their time, is not GODS time in the sence of 24 hrs in a day. We know there is a difference in time from our own knowledge now in light years. So when it was said "for the time is near" HE wants us to be constantly ready and to do that WE must be obedient today and everyday.
How gracious GOD is, through JESUS, that HE would have HIS servant John write all that he saw and heard for us; to have seen JESUS as HE remains now - so pure. John testifies to this in 1:12 - 17. I thought, reading again, John saw JESUS again, in his glory before he died. All I could say was WOW. Then, thinking on it , I realized how much GOD loves HIS people that HE would let us all see where we stand in our walk with HIM and what must be done to prepare ourselves for JESUS return for HIS people and judgement of all the world.
HE WAS AND IS AND IS TO COME. THE ALPHA AND THE OMEGA - THE BEGINNING AND THE END. THE FIRSTBORN FROM THE DEAD,THE KING OF ALL KINGS, NAME ABOVE ALL NAMES. I praise You LORD, I praise You.
It is a blessing to read this revelation from the MOST HIGH but extra blessings are promised if it is taken seriously because we know the Word of GOD is truth.
Chapter 2 ??? for me will be replied late Sunday or early Monday.

Although some comentaries regard the seven churches as the age of Christianity; I see from all the churches where it still applies. I found that in reading that I am a little of all in the past and present. Therefore I really need to be diligently aware of my trangressions and repent.
To the church of Ephesus:
When I read this again, I thought of where I worked before for an orginization. I was pres. of the ladies aux, but what I ran across during my term was desceit and wrong doing of the past. The post was already very corrupted with greed and the more I tried to get back to the right way of doing things, the more I was hated by most. I saw so much evil there in the last year I was there that I could not stand up to it alone anymore. I feel at times that my faith was not strong enough to withstand the evilness on a daily basis and in so I bowed out of it entirely. I struggle with that at times.
To the church of Smyrna:
I believe that I have experienced many tests of my Faith. Each test I encounter I pray to become stronger in my walk.
To the church of Pergamum:
In reading this I thought of my surroudings right now. I cringe everytime I hear someone here talk about horiscopes, Harry Potter, dumb shows, wicked movies and crazy cartoon shows. I have prayed for guidence on how to reach them without causing problems for myself. If my Faith were where it should be I shouldn't care so much about me and just say what needs to be said to them.
To the church of Pergamum
I am still repenting from this life of the flesh I had.
The main teaching for me is that I must always focuss my entire breath of life on GOD, JESUS who sits at the right hand of the FATHER and HOLY SPIRIT for opening my eyes. And repent in meaning what it means - ceasing from that act of sin again.
Teach me Your ways LORD, I pray. Teach me Your ways. In the Name of JESUS CHRIST, I ask.
