You went from being SDA to being Catholic???
Wow...
Those two groups are like oil and water.
I was raised SDA as well, but I no longer wear a denominational "coat". But I do attend a Baptist church now and I'm happy.

I am a Catholic. My parents are Seventh-day Adventist. I was raised SDA. I became Catholic because it is the only way i could find to obey JESUS command to eat HIS body and drink HIS blood as HE told us to do in John 6.
JESUS said if you love me you will keep my commandments. I am in a constant search to totally understand how JESUS wants me to live. So you will find me asking questions and presenting arguements on both sides of this question.
The sabbath commandment was one of only two positive commandments in the 10. It gives us a day of rest. It commands those of us who are bosses to give our employees a day of rest. this seems good to me.
but mostly and way more than anything else i am ...
all for JESUS!!

So, are you thn saying that believers are to still "keep" the Sabbath- But they can "keep" it however they want to "keep" it since Jesus did away with all of the legalism surrounding the keeping of the Sabbath?
AmariJah
God himself stated that we are not to fast on the sabbath, that is why what Christ did was not wrong.
God himself stated that working on the Sabbath is not allowed, which is why working on the sabbath is breaking the Sabbath.
I follow the spirit of the law, which allows me the freedom to obey the law if I so choose. It is not a salvation issue, it is a faith issue. I am saved, and I have the faith to walk according to God's appointed way. You are saved and choose to walk in the churches appointed way. That doesn't make me better than you, we are both equal in His eyes, but my walk, just like yours is chosen to bring me closer to God. You believe that the Churches way is correct and brings you closer, I believe that following the OT ways is correct and brings me closer. The thing is, neither of us is absolutely right, or absolutely wrong. We won't know the completely correct way until Christ himself returns to teach us.

#1 Because it would be a rejection of one of the greatest gifts and blessings given to us by our Lord; which is that He delivered us from being locked into the perishable body of clay, into a marvelous Kingdom of limitless Light which is no longer governed by the simple restrictions of this little earths measurement of time.
(It would be like saying, No thanks Lord- I prefer living here in Egypt locked into this perishable body of clay, knowing only the confines of this 3 dimensional world. The supreme arrogance would be to reject the un-bounded freedom available to us as citizens in God's Kingdom for this finite place and time!)
#2 To preach that the laws of Moses are still binding upon a Christian believer is to say that Yeshua didn't set a higher standard- and that He did not pay the price with His life blood, and that He did not establish a NEW AND BETTER COVENANT! (does this mean that a believer would willfully or knowingly go against what is written? Absoulutely not! Nevertheless we are no longer bound by those laws which govern the un-regenerated man because Yeshua has raised the bar and set a new standard!)
#3 By doing so- you would be placing Christian believers under condemnation which is impossible for those who accept the righteousness of Christ. You are like the Judaizers who are concerned that if we fail to "keep" one letter of the ancient law of Moses that we will not enter the Kingdom. (Too late we have already entered the Kingdom, most of us just don't seem to really know it!) It's like telling an eagle, that although he has glorious powerful wings which God gave him to ascend into the heavens, he must now walk everywhere and never fly again!
I believe that there are blessings that come with obedience to God's ways. Including but definately not limited to observing the Sabbath.
