Hi,
I did not know where else to post this, so I am posting it here:
Gods Timing
(not yours)
By Ebony Fox--Vice President of Brother Jesse Ministries
Part 1
Your plan vs. Gods plan
Eccesiates 3:1
"there is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven."
In everything in our lives is put into a specific time. Some carry schedules whiles others remember their days mentally. In either way we di this, we know we are in control, and that we are doing these events more or less, in our timing. But what about when it is God's timing? What should we do, and how should we react to an event you didn't plan on?
About three weeks ago, there was a woman named Missy. Missy was blessed in several ways throughout this entire year, her life was smooth and easy. Then, quite unexpectedly, she began to experience problems at her work place. She took stress leave, and began to panic at how things were unraviling. Everyday she cried out to God, asking him,"Whats happening?" Finally he answered her back, telling her, her time with that company was up; he did not want her to work there anymore.
She became frustrated. She had planned to work for that company for four more years, until her husband had retired from Home Security. But according to Gods' calendar book, Missy was to move on. Now while she took stress leave, Missy began to look for another job, so she would still be working. But that also was not in Gods' plan. She stayed homefor more than about two weeks. Bills began to pile up at her home; the situation was getting harder. Finally she recieved a mysterious call from a company she had worked for proximately six years before. They had heard of her problem and asked her to work for them again, getting paid two digits more than before. She gladly accepted and told them she would start that comming Monday. God must've thought that wasn't a good idea because the Sunday before she got a call telling Missy, her criminal record had not been cleared, so she could not work. Missy asked how long it would take to clear
her record. The reply was, "unless a miracle...60 days or more." Missys' hopes fell. No job would wait for such an extended period of time. So that Monday, she called the company and explained her situation. Then she took her car to the shop, for a check up.
Everyone prayed hard, but Missy thought it was useless now, 60 days was too long. Once again, God had other plans. Later that same Monday, a woman called and told her,"your record is clear, you can start work tomorrow!" Missy was estatic! God had performed a miracle, and she got the job.
The reason I shared Missys' story was because within it are alot of lessons, promises, and inspiration.
In the beginning Missy had a plan for the next four years. She knew exactly what she was gonna do and how. She had absolute control of her life. Nothing was wrong.
But in Gods eyes, everything was wrong. Missy had planned out her life according to her own will, and desires. Not God's will and desires. Now I'm sure she did not mean to do this, Missy loves God with all of her heart, but she also likes to be in control. She wanted her plan, because she knew her plan was in her power. Gods plan was out of her hands.
Psalms 32:8
"I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with my eye."
By making a plan for herself, she wasn't allowing God to guide her, rather she was guiding herself.
This is not saying you should not have a plan. Not at all. Having some sort of idea for your life is good, but if your plan is not in accordance to Gods will, do not expect your plan to be fulfilled, especially if you are a born-again believer, and you gave your life to christ.
Have a plan, but do not favor your plan, more than Gods' plan. Rest assured, Gods' plan is a whole lot better than your plan for your life.
Completly depend on the Lords' plan for your life, even if its sounds impossible; even if it sounds farfetched and so out there, people laugh at the idea of you accomplishing that plan. Our God is the God of impossibles things; when God is about to do something great He starts with a difficulty. When he is about to do something truely magnificent he starts with an impossibility.
If it was sent from the Lord. Trust it. Gods plans are always to help you grow and to become more properous. Gods plan is never to hurt you, rather his plan is there to make you stronger. So if God gives you a plan for your life, just trust in it, because his plans are good, and they always suceed.
Proverbs 19:21
"Many are the plans in a mans heart, but it is the Lords' purpose that always prevails."
