But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing. Psalm.34:10
And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus. Philip 4:19

Paul said that he learned to be content whether having need or having abundance. Maybe the spiritual life is not without times of hardship, and perhaps the soul is nourished and grows by such things. Christ did say that life is more than food and the body more than clothes.
