  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Joey44,

If you read the following verse 3 God puts in the same language except he puts Ammonite or Moabite shall not enter into the congregation of the Lord. It looks like verse two is talking about the ammonite/moabite people.

So much for God being merciful and quick to forgive! He punishes not only the illigitimate children for something that isn't their fault, but also their offspring for decades to come. I imagine that tenth generation would have long forgotten the point behind their punishment

It must be nice to be so sure of yourself that you feel safe to pass judgement on the actions of G-d. You might want to suggest to those around you that they should make sure that they aren't grounded.

All you've done is prove that God holds onto his resentment for a long, long time and then punishes children for the sins of their parents--sins in which the children played NO part whatsoever. If that's your idea of love, then I cannot imagine your definition of hate.

You are entirely mistaken as to God's purpose.

The Jews had shown that they were incapable of loyalty to God for even ONE generation. The Moabites and Ammonites were spared from intermarrying with the riffraff that exited Egypt. It would take 10 generations to cleanse the sin of the Golden Calf from Israel, and turn them into worthwhile breeding stock for a Godly Kingdom.

So God was merciful in preventing intermarriage between the Israelites and other nations at that time. This slowed down the inevitable further corruption of the House of Judah, because SHE was incapable of resisting the temptations of other idolatrous nations, and converting them to the Lord's Way (TORAH).

Eventually the corruption and idolatrous apostacy was so severe that Israel's only hope was in a REDEEMER, a MESSIAH, prophesied by MOSES.

By the way, the word in question does NOT refer to someone born out of wedlock, but rather to the progeny of a marriage outside of tribal customs and boundaries, such as the children of Esau, who refused to heed his parent's wishes concerning marriage.

I'd like to see your facts.

Nothing worse then someone in the family getting married to riffraff.

You call yourself a teacher of Israel, and you do not know these things?
If I tell you about earthly things, and you do not believe,
how will you believe if I tell you about heavenly things?
We speak of what we have seen and heard,
but you do not receive our witness.
If another comes in his own name, him you will receive!

If you knew the Holy Scriptures and the power of the Living God,
you would know these things.
