This song was given to me from God, through His Son Jesus, 36 years ago. He meant it then, He means it now - because HE keeps His Covenant with me even though I broke His Covenant with Him - just like King David.
For only one reason does He keep it, because He is Holy and Righteous, and He declares whatever He wishes to declare, just because it pleases Him!
Exodus 33:19a NIV
"I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion."
Romans 9:14-15 NIV
"What then shall we say? Is God unjust? Not at all! For he says to Moses,
“I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”
To all my Brothers and Sisters here, this is my testimony from an old fella in the Lord: If you have received Jesus as your personal Savior and Lord, and can hear His Spirit assuring you in your spirit, then you have no reason to ever fear or doubt. God is THE Promise Keeper.
And you know that you know His voice - His written Word declares it for you:
Romans 8:16 NIV
"The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children."
Count on Him to declare it to you and through you to the end of your temporal life here, until the great day that we all stand before Him:
Jude 1:24-25 ESV
"Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy, to the only God, our Savior, through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, dominion, and authority, before all time and now and forever. Amen."
