1) all of them, that they, literally, followed Jesus, who proclaimed to be "I am," IS a profession of their faith in him as God.
2) Inconclusive. We don't know specifically who they thought he was and they often asked him, only to get an even more confusing answer. It isn't clear to us if it was even clear to them who they truly thought him to be.
3) None. There were no "Christians" until Antioch.

Scoffers paint those who founded America as "deists" because folks don't know what "deism" means. Today it's associated with see-nothing, do-nothing concepts of god, virtual pantheism, quite compatible with atheism and difficult to distinguish therefrom. Indeed, considering the primary goal of atheism, one serves equally as well as the other.
