God, I need You so much!

A poem to Lord Jesus. I just needed to pour my heart out and express myself.

"Redeemed Forever" (Thank you, Dave G. for this awesome title)

Jesus, I have been so unfaithful to You,
Sometimes I can do nothing but sin,
Yet You call my name and lead me back,
Though I don't deserve it, not even slightly

You always see me through,
In You I always win
You give me victory in every attack,
But it is nothing that I should take lightly

Without You I would be dead today,
Rotting away in a grave,
Tossed into Hell then in the Lake of Fire,
Deserving to be forever punished

Yet You love me still in every way,
And I am no longer a slave,
I was so dead inside, my situation so dire,
But You said "It is finished!"

Redeemed forever by Your amazing Grace,
I now have life in You,
Transformed inside and a brand new creature,
Because You are eternally forgiving

Your yoke is easy, and I'm running the race,
So others can know You too,
I follow You, my Lord, my Master and Teacher,
You are the God of the living

But the price You paid for me wasn't cheap,
Because the wages of sin is death,
But in Your everlasting love You thought of me while You were dying,
Because You knew I can't pay my own debt

I was stuck in a pit, in a mire so deep,
But when I was drowning, You were my breath,
Everyday You see my sins, yet You focus on my crying,
Say that I am forgiven and all my sins You will forget

Oh, God, I need You, I love You so much,
Yet only because You loved me first,
What can I possible give You? Not a thing,
But my life is Yours, Jesus, don't let go of me!!!

My heart needs to feel Your loving touch,
For You, my Lord, I will always thirst,
Praises to You, I'll speak and I'll sing,
In You I have forgiveness, in You I am free

By Your great love I am overwhelmed,
You have given me faith to move mountains,
But I can barely believe that You are still here,
After I betrayed You.

I hide my face from You, I am so ashamed,
My eyes are like teary fountains,
But You speak to me and take away my fear,
And I am cleansed, made new

You alone are God, and there is no one else,
No one can take Your Throne,
Because no one else could ever be like You,
Not one of Your creations could be love like you are love

No matter what the myths or history tells,
Greater love than Yours no one has ever known,
You are eternally righteous, holy and true,
The Son of God who was truly sent from High above

I am amazed by everything that You have done,
I never knew I could be this blessed,
Though my heart says "Why? Why? Why?"
Because my guilt brings me to my knees

And so humbly I bow before the One,
In whose love I'm allowed to rest,
You, who despite my sins still lifts me high,
Because You love the least of these

And I am truly one of the least,
If I look at myself too long I will faint,
But I look at You and You make me strong,
You give my life a new story

I will come to Your wedding feast,
Because You have made me a saint,
Until then I will praise You all day long,
Because to You belongs all Glory!

I wish I had better words to speak,
To give praise to Your Holy Name,
Because it feels like nothing is enough,
To describe Your perfect nature

But I will turn the other cheek,
Give sight to the blind and heal the lame,
To give comfort to the broken when life is rough
Be a sheep in Your green pasture

You have given me a testimony for me to share,
That reveals who You are.
In You I am like You, to this world that is so dark,
And You have given me Your light

To lead the lost to You so they can see that You care,
And that You are near, not far,
So on a journey with You I will embark,
Take my Sword and fight!

I wrote like 20 or so poems/Psalms during my first few years as a Christian, I have them in a binder somewhere, I'll post them if I find them. Yea Writing is good, thanks. God bless you too

I just reread your poem again. It touched me much more now, as I was still tired earlier this morning, needed to still wake up some more.

It is a really Beautiful poem! Shows your profound love for God. Some parts of the poem I thought would have fitted nicely as a song too, though perhaps the whole poem would have fitted nicely in as a song if the right melody would have been set/made for it?

I also have thought earlier before I read this poem that I think you seem like a humble person, something which pleases God greatly too. We are also supposed putting ourselves into a servant's position, the least ones are the ones who are seen as greatest in God's eyes.

It was a really touching poem! And I could read it with shared emotions, or thinking the same way as how you expressed your feelings to Him.

Yes well that inspiration sounds as though it is coming from the Holy Spirit if you were to ask me. You were having a time with God.

I would live to write music one day, as you already do know, and I do feel inspired as I write. Creating anything for God is a blessing, as He inspires me to do it.
