Do you think you are a “ Pretty Good Guy or Gal?” Perhaps you are, at least as the World judges such things......
Unfortunately, the “ wisdom” and the consensus of the World will not matter one whit come the Day Of Judgement.....it will be God who will be doing the Judging.....how does He view us?
Do you think you have gained any Spiritual “ Brownie Points” By never committing Murder? By never committing Adultery? The Pharisees Of Jesus day thought that they did. Jesus had to set them straight—- If you hate somebody without cause, or if you even “ look” at the opposite sex with lustful thoughts.....you are just as guilty as the Murderer or the Adulterer.Trying to Justify ourselves before a Holy God simply because we have not done anything “ Terrible?”...... it seems that getting to Heaven that way has been cut off.....
Do you think that obeying the Law ( there are 613 of them! ) or maybe just the Ten Commandments is the way to go? James said that if you break just ONE of them , you have broken them ALL! It appears that Commandment keeping as a means of Justification is not going to get the job done.Once again, that way has been cut off .....
Even if a person has done the Impossible—- kept all of the Laws and never had a Sinful thought or desire.....He is STILL going to find himself in a heap of trouble....Staring him in the face now are the “Sins Of OMISSION!” There are countless GOOD things you SHOULD have done and you did not do them. How many poor,homeless strangers did you invite into your home today to feed and clothe? None? Why not? Did you not know that if there is something good you should be doing, and you ignore it , you are Sinning?
Can’t you see it, friends? EVERY means of trying to justify ourselves.....every avenue to make ourselves “ Worthy” Of Eternal Life is doomed to failure.God has cut off every manner of self- Justification . God has purposely blocked every way to be “ Fit For Heaven.” He has us TRAPPED ! We are hopeless and helpless.No way out. Except one!
The Answer to our dilemma is something that only God could come up with— Grace! A complete Forgiveness of ALL sins — Accomplished by Jesus shedding His Precious Blood for unworthy singers with the Finished Work Of The Cross .Jesus accomplished everything we need for Salvation by His Sacrifice. We “ cash in” on what He alone did with Faith.
Sinners and Religionists and Legalists all need to swallow their Pride, abandon their Self Justification and Self-Righteousness and all the Avenues that they think might lead to Heaven and submit to the ONLY Plan that will ever work—Grace. “By GRACE you are Saved, through Faith......” Realize God has you trapped — it’s His Way or No way.....Thank Him for His Grace and begin your Walk Of Faith Without damnable Delusions That there are any other ways to be Saved.....
