I must say that before I share this God does speak and He is all powerful and has control over everything He has made. Here it goes. Yesterday as I was mowing my grass and I was half way done it started to rain. I stopped my lawn mower and prayed that the Lord would close up the sky and hold the rain until I was done. Not thirty seconds later the rain come to a stop. I continued mowing and completed the task with out another drop falling. I put away my lawn mower and walked to the front of my house that took no more than a minuet and the rain started and it rained very hard. I thanked the Lord for holding the rains. Today I was in my yard once again and there were some clouds but it hadn't rained since early this morning. God spoke to me in the way that He does and He said to prey for the rain to fall, the wind to blow, and the lightning to flash, and the thunder to crash. I stood in the middle of my back yard and preyed that these things would happen if it was Gods will. I was just finishing preying when the first sprinkles fell on me. Not five minuets later the weather sirens went off and the wind and the rains started to fall. I turned on the tv ( I don't have much intrest or use for it that is why it was off) and the weather man was saying that storms were building and there was some rotation in these storms. They were just a few miles east of my house. A little while later my father called me and asked if we faired the storm ok. I answered yes, we just had hard wind and some heavy rain. He told me one of if not the worst hail storm he had ever seen popped up and blew through his neighborhood. This is 2 times in 2 days that I have preyed for changes in the weather and both times they have been answed immediately. I can not chalk this up to coincidence some might be able to but I can't. I belive that there is a two part answer to this. The first day I preyed for something and I believed that God would answer my prayer if it was his will. The second day He told me to prey for something and I did it, and I believed that He would do it. The first day I sought Him on a problem that was upsetting me. The second day was a test of me to put my faith in Him and to trust his words. To me this was God directly answering prayer. God is truely powerful. All praise and glory go to Him. Dorf

CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
