  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

There were another series of earthquakes in California today, and my cousin said "I don't know why people say 'God bless the victims.' He caused the earthquake, so why would he want to help them? It was God's fault." When someone makes such a statement, how do you respond? The Book of Job came to mind--any other recommendations for rebuttals?

Your insurance documents call earthquakes, floods, tornadoes, and landslides "acts of God". Have you ever wondered why these are not called "acts of the devil?" The devil is called
the prince of this world John 12:31, John 14:31, John 16:11 and
the prince of the power of the air Ephesians 2:2 among other things.
He is a powerful being. If you remember the experience of Job, you will see that the devil inflicts sickness Job 2:7. The devil even whipped up a storm that killed Job's children Job 1:19.
The devil cannot create life, but he can certainly inflict suffering and even cause death. In fact, that is his nature. Why does God in His eternal wisdom and patience allow the devil to inflict suffering. And does God Himself cause these natural disasters to occur? Sure, God can do anything He wants including restricting the devil. There will one day be a new heaven and new earth. No more suffering. It is hard to talk to people about it sometimes because God can do Anything He wants. But He is God. I certainly don't wanna tick Him off :)

It's interesting. I think maybe the earth is always changing and these catastrophic natural disasters simply happen due to the earth changing. I Do believe that the devil is the prince of this world, however if he has control over natural disasters why would he not constantly be destroying us through them. They only happen once in long periods of time, which makes me believe they are a product of natural change. What is scary is how the devil can tempt us and once we bite he can twist us into destroying ourselves. That is more scary then natural disasters I think.

There is one more thing to consider and it's worth looking into. I've been doing a lot of research since I heard about Planet X, both on the Christian aspects and the government info. It is very interesting how much the worldwide governments know and understand the seriousness that this planet can cause destruction for our planet. It is already showing signs in the weather, sinkholes, polar changes, earthquakes, etc. Some believe this could be a part of the tribulations and the governments aren't telling the people nothing. Please check this out on the internet to get the full feeling of what I'm telling you. The Christian viewpoint about the blood moons that are coming this year and next year, plus Planet X, plus any info you could find through the government side and their cover-up by keeping this quiet. We shouldn't stay in the dark about things. God is trying to show and warn us and prepare us for His coming. It's worth the search. Try it please, you will be amazed with understanding and knowledge.
