Hey guys!

This is a topic that's really close to my heart, and I was wondering how ya'll feel about it.

Is it something that we as Christian photographers (btw: definition of photographer=person who takes photo) should do? In that case, how important is it, and how should we go about it? Does it in any way limit which photos we should be taking?

Opinions please!

I'm considering this too, and for me it will take shape in the theme's I set up for my personal shoot's. It seems to me the only subject matter it could affect is people photography. Lust of the eye is the danger here it would seem. But ultimately, the human body is beautiful, and if the intention is to glorify that, it shouldn't be a problem.

photography should be governed by what governs everything else: love. if youre acting out of love, youre doing things right. our entire lives should be composed of nuanced worship, and the practice of photography can easily be a facet of that.

I have been taking photos in my private observatory for some time now, hoping that in some way, I am glorifying God through showing His works in the heavens to the world.

I know there are plenty of people doing astrophotography, but not many give the Lord credit for it.

How can you look at something like this (below)and not see God? Do you know how many rules, laws and design features contribute to make such things?

The other thing is, it takes me thousands of dollars, years of experinece, hi-tech equipment and hours of patience to capture an image of such faint, distant and ENORMOUS objects in deep space......HE CREATED IT BY HIS WILL!

Now that's a big wow from me.

This one photo alone took me 80 minutes of manually guided capture.

I stay away from shooting people except my family but that's because of my weakness; YMMV. I shoot landscape exclusively and enjoy being one of few who overtly give glory to the creator rather than the creation. In any case if you're interested in landscape Ken Duncan and Ric Ergenbright are Christians (for sure Duncan is) and they're world class.
