Dear Daily Message Readers,

READ: Psalm 33

Psalm 33:11 (NASB) "The counsel of the LORD stands forever; the plans of His heart from generation to generation."

Ever had a glitch? A glitch is something that throws chaos into your plans. Activities must be delayed, plans remade, tempers can flair. Think about the last glitch you encountered. Perhaps it was an important document you had typed on your computer that didn't reload after your computer crashed. Or maybe you ran out the door late for work and your car had a flat tire.

Because we live in a sin-filled world, everybody has glitches and has experienced them. Even large corporations and mega-churches have them. Phone systems collapse, computers break down, the power goes out, and somebody goofs up on a simple transaction. But there is one Person, though, who has never had a glitch and that is God. Everything He plans happens without any hindrance or stoppage. Everything He has planned for His followers has come about without a single glitch.

During his many missionary journeys, the apostle Paul encountered more than a few glitches. He was jailed in Jerusalem, stoned at Lystra, and was kept by God from preaching in Asia. In each of these cases recorded in the New Testament book of Acts, however, God had new, better plans for Paul.

God does the same thing in your life. He's got plans for you, and He will accomplish them (Jer. 29:11). What you see as troubles or setbacks are all part of what God has in store for you. As the psalmist wrote in Psalm 33:11, "The counsel of the LORD stands forever; the plans of His heart from generation to generation."

With that promise in mind, go forward in faith and trust that the Lord will pull you through whatever circumstances may arise out of life’s glitches.

Faith Lesson: When we trust God's plan for our lives, we will turn our setbacks into a springboard for mighty spiritual victories.

In Christ,
Darin Smith
